BROAD LIGHTING IMAGE EXAMPLES

in Grey’s Book “Master Lighting Guide For Portrait Photographers” he includes very helpful example images so you can have a clear visual understanding of how different types of light affect the overall image and way your subject is portrayed.

Light itself is a “Visual Language”, so it makes sense that by making a conscious choice to select a particular lighting setup over other options, it allows us a photographers to use the light as a means of communication to convey and portray our concept and “feeling”behind the imagery that we create

As per the description of “Broad Lighting” as see above, you can clearly see I have gone for broad lighting for my shoot

I also however, used a fill light to the left side of my subject (camera right) with a small reflector dish. I did this to balance out the shadows as there was a bit of light fall off.
