The Erins did Bristlefrost SO wrong by making her plot revolve around Rootspring and romance for the second half of The Broken Code. Bris' support of the Imposter could have led to such an interesting character arc for her, and it was all dropped to make a man the only thing she thought about. I wanted to see Thunderclan not trust her! I wanted to see her not trust her OWN judgement! She was manipulated for so long, and just shakes off that truama to get forced into a bland romance.

I never, NEVER Liked Bristlefrost. Maybe it’s because I joined the fandom just as the last book was released, so everyone was freaking abt her death idk. But wasn’t she vocally supporting the imposter until discovering the rebels?
Not to mention that her falling in love with Rootspring and moving on from Stemleaf was very random to me, and having her be all Lovey-dovey towards him was so relevant that I forgot any character she had outside of that (though that could be a me issue considering I also haven’t read the books in 2-3 years).
Everything about her character seemed shallow/revoled around Rootspring, and her sacrifice meant nothing to me because that’s how I was personally introduced to the fandom. I don’t particularly hate her or anything (I love Sunbeam and most people I’ve met on this app consider them very similar), but I genuinely cannot name one personality trait she has and I consider her very over-rated personally.
I love Ivypool’s SE covering her grief over her though, even if Ivy wasn’t much of a mom until the last book.
