Second university that I’ve come across today that shows some sanity. We should be able to expect this kind of response. Still I welcome it. Thank you @uflorida
when they say "sceasefire" they mean Israel should dismantle their military and sit silently while Hamas slaughters them. they mean stop trying to rescue the hostages because they're "treated well". they mean stop the violence on one side because they're "colonisers" and globalize the violence of the other side because "you don't get to choose how they resist". they mean "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be the home of only Palestinians, the (((white colonisers))) will be expelled and murdered for their (((crimes)))".
when we say "sceasefire", we mean Netanyahu should stop roleplaying as a dictator and get a proper sceasefire deal. we mean the circle of violence and bloodshed must come to an end. we mean that we want our hostages home safe. we mean we want to live in peace without fearing Hamas. we mean PEACE.
that's the difference. don't tokenize our words, we are not blind to the violence of either side, not like you are blind to the violence of Hamas.
As we approach the first year since the war started, we mustn’t forget why Israel is fighting this war
Bring. Them. Home. NOW!
Spot the difference: hell VS. home:
Gaza: Hundreds of face-covered men with guns, to maximise the terror their victims experience. The women were physically pushed to the Red Cross car.
Israel: the soldiers let the women exit the cars in their own terms. Everyone's faces are fully visible. The welcome party is very small, and spreads to not overwhelm the women. Most of the group are women soldiers. It's also not seen immediately, but most of the soldiers on the ground are mental health professionals.
Even physically, the female soldier move to be in eye level with Emily, as she asks her if she needs anything else.
Also, most of them wear face masks - which is especially important as we don't know how well (or unwell) is the women's immune system.
First hug as a free woman - the moment she starts to realise (it's real. I'm here. It's happening. I'm free).
Welcome back home Romi, Emily and Doron.
We missed you.

Linking a printable handout (meant for size a6, but you do you) with some basic things you can do to advocate for the hostages (based on info from Noa Reuvini (best friend of Ziv who has been taken hostage) ).
I also have a light version in case that's easier to print out for anyone.
Here's a preview:
I think every synagogue and community center should have clear information on what we can do to help advocate for the hostages, so I'd love to see more people reaching our to their rabbis to ask if its okay to have these available.
Also feel free to make suggestions or requests.

I will never forget the image of Rom two months ago. Released from the Gazan hell. A skeleton. Wrapped in the flag of Israel. He walked out of the unimaginable, bearing the weight of darkness on his shoulders. They tried to break him. But they didn’t know who they were dealing with. Yesterday, the script changed. At Kfar HaMaccabia, where he is still fighting to heal, Rom celebrated his 22nd birthday. From the depths of captivity to the celebration of life—this is what absolute resilience looks like. He is a walking miracle. A hero. ✡️ Our hero. 🇮🇱
