Side note, guys, I havenât written in a long time, but thank you so much for sending in requests, as it's definitely helping me get back into writing and become a better writer.
Your strained voice calls out into the eerie hallway as your eyes scan around for a certain pink-haired individual. To your dismay, you see nothing but dark shadows enveloping the outlines of the lockers that line the walls. You feel your feet starting to drag behind you, and you begin to lose hope of ever finding your friend.
The uncomfortable, fluttery pounding in your chest takes over when thinking about what happened. âUliana and her evil crew have done it for the last time,â you think to yourself. The image of Bridget biting into that wicked cupcake flashes in your mind while you search. You werenât able to see what happened after, just a piercing scream and your vibrant friend sprinting out of the room while everyone at Merlin's Academy burst into cruel laughter.
Fortunately for you, you round the corner, nearing the main entrance hall, to find someone standing there. âIs that Bridget?â Your mind runs with every possibility of who it could be until the figure turns around to face you
âOh, my sweet girl.â You speak softly as you approach with caution; the tears streaming down Bridgetâs face are the only thing you can focus on, not the way her posture is hunched over, or her natural pink aura that has turned brown and dim, or even the way her face has twisted into an older, more ragged version of herself. Her beautiful hair is no longer pink and bouncy; instead, it is straight, grey, and black, wrapping around her shoulders like a cloak made to blend her with the dark shadows.
You reach out to cradle her face, but she swipes at your hand to stop you from doing so. âGet away! Please just go away. Iâm a monster.â Your eyes widen with surprise; you never would have expected Bridget to act out like this. She eyes you as you try to approach again and promptly pushes you away, her elongated, crooked nails digging into your shoulders as she does so. âI said GET AWAY,â she screams at you, her chest heaving aggressively; her once alluring brown eyes are now black with rage and fear.
âBridget, you are not a monster. Never in a million years could I ever think someone as perfect, sweet, beautiful, and caring as you would ever be anything else.â You attempt to reach out your hand one last time, and this time she doesnât combat you, but she remains stiff and uneasy. Her eyes search yours for any hint of dishonesty or betrayal. Behind them you can see the panic and hurt ripping her to shreds.
âYou are as beautiful as the day I first met you, darling.â A small tear escapes from Bridgetâs eye at your words. Sheâs spent so long chasing friends, popularity, and companionship, and yet here you are standing in front of her all of this time, waiting to give her your all. âHow could I be so blind?â She thinks to herself and you watch the puzzle pieces connect within her mind, her mouth agape and her eyes expressionless. You hate seeing her so dull, but you can tell the flicker of hope within her hasnât been extinguished, and you smile softly at the thought.
When your fingers finally make contact with the rough, wrinkly skin of her face, you move your thumb to caress her cheek softly. Bridget hesitantly allows herself to melt into the feeling of your skin against hers. The small gesture calmed her nerves ever so slightly, allowing the panic in her mind to slowly ease.
âPlease y/n.â Bridgetâs voice is hoarse, and it hits your ears like a broken violin, every word shaky and shrieking like her vocal cords are screaming for help. Her sad doe-like eyes plead with you, the wetness threatening to spill over her lashes once more.
âMake this go away.â Those gut-wrenching words hit you like a 5-ton boulder and twist your stomach into knots, but nothing wrangles your insides like watching the tears finally stream down her face and hearing the hopeless cry come from her perfect lips. You can't trust your voice enough to speak without cracking or wavering, so you opt for a heavy nod and take a step back. Holding your hands up in front of Bridget, you take a deep breath and concentrate on returning the pitiful girl before you back into her vibrant pink self again. The magic tickles in your chest like a sneeze building itself up. You feel it slowly traverse through your arms, then your wrists and palms, and then finally to your fingertips.
You both watch quietly as the faint gold glow emanates from your fingers and envelops Bridgetâs figure. Her small, hunched frame was slowly returning to her taller self. Her hair transformed back into the beautiful bubblegum curls they once were, framing her now soft and youthful face. In just a quick 30 seconds, shes back to her true self, leaving behind a distraught, sobbing blob of pink who runs into your arms and hugs you tightly.
âY/n, I want to go home. I donât want to be here anymoreâ she sobs into your chest. Your arms wrap around her tightly, and your hands rub soft circles into her back. You nod softly and place a soft kiss on her forehead. âOkay love, let's go homeâ you whisper into her ear as you lessen your hold on her frail body, allowing you to start walking and guiding her out of the main entrance and down the front steps of the school.

queen of hearts x fem!reader where shes like a human cheshire cat where she isnât afraid of the queen in the slightest and the only one who dares to tease her (and it pisses the queen off to no extent)
and the only reason it hasnât been off with readers head is bc the queen secretly enjoys readers company. mayhaps with the âkissing them to shut them upâ trope incorporated. idk sorry if this req is nonsensical đđ
đšThe Queen of Hearts x Readerđš
Reader pronouns: She/her
Pairing: The Queen of Hearts x Fem! human Cheshire!reader
Plot: Wonderland is ruled by a cruel tyrant who shows no mercy to any. She has no heart and certainly no love. But one annoying cat seems to keep appearing by her side. A Cat that she has a lot of tension with.
Word count: 1.3k
Extra: This was succhhh a fun idea. QoH is big time crush of mine! She's kinda tricky to write though so I'm sorry if this is awful. I'm also starting classes again so my scheduled uploading is becoming a little more unorganized sorry
Wonderland is a curious place. It was very unpredictable, as were the people and creatures that lived there. It was never a place that was meant to be made sense of. And for a long time there was no order in the land.
But these past decades there had been. A mighty tyrant was crowned queen and made sure that everything in the kingdom of Wonderland stayed to her liking.
Curfew's, no games, no fun, and definitely no wonder. And that was something you just couldn't live by.
For a long time you only sat in trees and caused mischief and pranks to passerbys. Going around and causing as much chaos as you felt the need to. But you still always noted to stay clear from the castle. You broke every single one of the rules that the Queen enforced and she was not known for being very merciful.
Of course you would just be a smile away from your favorite tree and disappear from any restraints. But maybe it was safer to just stay away.
Well, you wouldn't be the Cheshire Cat if you played things safe, would you?
Of course you just had to meet the Queen herself! Such a respectable lady. Though she makes everything utterly boring, she herself was anything but boring.
She was quite the character, in fact. Or so you heard.
One day you decided to introduce yourself. As in, one day a lonesome grin appeared beside her while she was alone in her room. A smile with no eyes, a smile with no face. A grin that resembled the crescent moon. A grin that sung a tune of how odd she was.
The smile only giggled at her disturbed state. Then the smile spoke to her and she demanded you revealed who you were.
It took a couple weeks of only messing with her and disappearing before she could actually do anything about it before you revealed yourself fully to her.
And now, a couple years later, when you find yourself bored you appear before the Queen and see how far you can push her.
"I'm quite busy today and certainly not in the mood for your shenanigans. So get lost, cat." The Queen of Hearts said in her regal accent and her usual nasty attitude.
She didn't even have to look to know that you had appeared behind her. She had quickly picked up the skill of feeling when you were around.
"Oh my, you look radiant as always, your highness. Why the bad attitude?" You grin wide at her clearly stressed state.
She only scoffed and kept her eyes on the papers in front of her that she was reviewing. Being a queen unfortunately didn't mean pampered treatment 24/7. She felt it was ridiculous that she actually had to do this awful work, "Flattery gets you no where. Now like I said, shoo." The Queen waved her hand in one motion to signal you to leave.
Though you being you, you wouldn't go away so easily.
In a typical cat-like fashion, you hop on the table in front of her, knocking her papers to the side, "Don't be such a sour puss, Bridget." You say, your boot kicking aside the other books on her table as you stretched out.
The Queen was practically fuming now. She could not believe the absolute audacity of the lady cat in front of her. The way you thought you could talk to a queen like that and knock over her stuff? Absolutely unacceptable! "Do not call me that. It's Your Royal Highness to you. Now get off my table immediately." She yelled, standing up to be more assertive.
The grin on your face only widened further as you laughed, "So serious all the time..." You tease, turning over to lay on your side and pose as if you were trying to appear more attractive to her.
"I am your queen and you best do as I tell you or I will have the guardsâ"
"Do what? Imprison me? Behead me? Yes... I'm sure that will work like the other dozen times it has." You were really pushing your luck, cutting off the Queen like that.
She looked down on you, her eyes narrowing and the scowl on her face only intensifying. That look she gave you was the one that excited you most. The whole reason you do any of this just to see that gorgeous expression. An expression to die for. Literally.
"Now, for how long do you think you will continue to get away with denying a royal command?" She asked, drumming the tips of the red claws on her fingers against the table.
"For as long as I'd like." You hum to yourself, only making yourself more comfortable laying on the table.
Bridget did not seem pleased with the answer you gave. She prayed on day you'd cower at her command but you never did. Never have you ever shown any sign of worry or fright which welled overwhelmingly in her chest.
"But really it's your fault. You do give the dearest reactions." You continue on with a smirk.
"Is that so?" An eyebrow raised as her posture still held her high and her expression rock solid.
"Why, yes of course~" You giggle, "Your reactions... They're all so entertaining yet predictable. All of your adorable expressions only fuel my need to tease you more. Who could resist a person such as yourself? I'm lucky to have the opportunity to be in your presence andâ"
But just before you could finish your endless yet flirtatious flattery, Bridget suddenly grabbed you by the collar of your top and jerked you close. Before you could make any kind of remark, she locked her lips to yours to silence you.
And for once, you were completely silent. No stupid grin and no stupid remark.
The kiss was far from gentle, you could've sworn the aggression of it could've bruised your lip. It also lasted longer than you could even imagine. Well, it definitely felt longer than you could imagine. Your hands threatened to wander to her waist but you weren't sure how she'd like that.
Though her hand still held the collar of your shirt, but her free hand held your leg to keep you in place, the claws on her fingers digging into you slightly.
Ame After what felt like forever, she finally pushed you away and leaving you to stumble back. You were left stunned as she turned her back to you.
"That seemed to be quite effective." She remarked, "Tell me, was that predictable as well?" She asked as if she was mocking you. As if she was the one playing with you like a toy rather than the other way around.
In truth, she was quite fond of you. You could believe you got away from her on your own all you like; but she'd never scentence you to death. As much as she'd rather die than admit it, she would feel disappointed the days you wouldn't show up. The days she was left alone on the throne with her kingdom and own daughter to hate her.
She always believed it was better to be feared than loved, that she couldn't be hurt that way. But she felt more alive when you were right beside her. She knew you didn't fear her, and as much as she tried to make you, you never did. And she loved it.
"Wow..." The grin suddenly appeared on your face once again, "You're right, your highness. I didn't see that one coming." You hopped off the table and approached her from being, dropping your arms over her shoulders and leaning against her back, "Perhaps we should do it again~" you smirk.
"Get off of me, you miserable fiend. You're ruining my dress." She commanded, shrugging you off of her.
You back off with an even bigger grin, "You're quite rough, maybe we'll be a little more gentle next time?" You suggest.
"There isn't a next time. Get away before I shut you up in a way you won't find very pleasing." She threatened, shooing you with her hand.
"I just love when you threaten me." You mock a dreamy sigh.
The Queen only scoffs in disgust and rolls her eyes. How could a kitty be so insufferable and endearing at the same time? She swore you'd be the death of her.

a/n: i apologise for not posting yesterday but i did not feel well bc of the heat, like what the fuck, why is it so hot, but here i am with a one shot for the lovely Bridget, because i am down bad for this girl both the character and the actress, Ruby Rose TurnerâŚthe woman that you are.
It had been a long day or rather, a long week for you. Midterms were coming and you were panicking, studying never came easy for you, so you have to study twice as hard than everyone else to receive a passing grade, which caused you to cram all night long, with no sleep, while during the day, as student body president, you were required to patrol the halls and then di extra curricular activities, you didnât have time to study at all during daylight.
By the end of the week, you were like a walking corpse, eye bag clinging to your under eyes, slouching not caring whether you were about to bump into something or someone.
Friday afternoon, walking to your after school club, dragging your feet with your eyes barely staying open, to others you look like zombie, some students looked at you with worry but none cared enough to actually help you that is until you bumped into a certain bubbly pink haired girl.
The sound of a falling metal tray startled you, watching the seen in front of you, you panicked when you saw a bunch of pink cupcakes on the floor, looking back at the girl, she just looked at at you horrified.
âBridget! Oh my god, i am SO SO SORRY!â You said apologetically as you were about to lean down to grab the fallen tray and cupcake a hand grab at your forearms stopping you, you look up to see Bridgetâs worried eyes.
âY/n? Are you ok?â Bridget asked, you were confused as to what she was talking about.
âYeah? Why?â
âYour eyes..â realising what she was talking about, you immediately pulled your arm away from her hand, grabbed the cupcakes and the tray before handing it back to her hurriedly.
âIm sorry againâ you said before rushing away from, sudden burst of adrenaline from embarrassing yourself in front of your crush.
How can you forget about the eyebags surrounding your eyes, you almost look like Hook with his eyeliner from how dark your eyebags are.
After basically running to the fashion club, you were even more exhausted than before, causing you to poke yourself self while sewing a shirt, it wouldâve been fine if it happened once or twice, but as the hour passed, the other members couldnât help but look at you everytime you say âowâ.
âY/n? You good, girl?â The club president asked, but you didnt hear her.
âY/n? Y/n!â The president shook you wake when she noticed you actually had your eyes closed while using the machine.
âWa-what?â You said blinking your eyes back open.
âY/n, i think you should go get some sleepâ
You fake chuckled âwhaaat? Im fine, im totally awakeâ you said activating the machine again but your eyes began to close once more.
âNope, youâre not, câmonâ the president said before grabbing you and dragging you out of the room with you mumbling protests, it was clear very very crystal clear that you were exhausted.
The president was silently scolding for not taking care of yourself but once you reached the courtyard, you felt as if you were handed to another pair of arms, much softer arms and mmmm they smell good too.
The only part you heard of their conversation was âiâll take care of herâ before you were once again dragged away.
You looked drunk from how much you were stumbling and babbling about being âsuper awake and super energisedâ you heard the person carrying you chuckle and you recognised it as Bridgetâs laugh, but you didnt have the energy to even blush around her.
As she guided you back to your dorm, she scolded you about needing to manage your time better and taking better care of yourself which made you sulk a bit.
When you arrived in front of your dorm, you were already passed out in her arms, making it hard for her to ask you for the keys of your dorm so she checked your pockets and that made you giggle in your sleep.
"đľđŞđ¤đŹđđŚđ´" you said murmuring.
Bridget chuckled opening your door. She guided you to your bed, making sure to lay you down carefully but what you said made her drop you to your bed but you didnât even realise as you close your eyes snuggling into your blanket.
The next day you woke up more active and aware of your surroundings, but what made you confused is why Bridget is talking to you and blush-y around you, not that you minded of course, you just donât know why.
It went on for the rest of the day, she was happily talking to her, so she confronted her about it.
âBridget, im sorry, why are you talking to me?â You said, and the girl suddenly looked confused and hurt.
âNot that i mind, of course, in fact i enjoy it a-lot, its justâŚyou never really talked to me this much before, did something happen?â You defended immediately.
âWell, yesterday you said-â she hesitated noticing the confused look on your face â you know what, nevermindâ she said smiling but you can see that it wasnât a genuine one.
âIm just gonna goâ she said attempting to leave but you grabbed her wrist.
âNo, please tell me what i said yesterdayâ you were dreading to know what you said.
âUm, wellâŚ.you said you liked me, but you were totally buzzed out yesterday so i understand that you didnât really mean it, so no worriesâ she hurried say with nervousness in her voice.
âOh. My. God. Bridget, i am so sorry, i didnât want to confess that way.â You said blushing, embarrassed about your actions from yesterday âyou know, you can totally reject me immediately, you donât have to let me down slowly or whatnot, i donât want to force you to hang out with me, just because you know i like youâ you said apologetically.
âNo, y/n, i li-â Bridget said.
âYouâre too kind that you cant even say it, oh my goddd, i totally get it, no hard feelings, you dont have to say it, im gonna go now so- yeahâ you said turning around to leave.
The next thing you knew, lips were pressed against yours. Your eyes widen at the sudden situation, you saw Bridget with her eyes closed ACTUALLY kissing you.
'đ°đŠ đŽđş đ¨đ°đĽ. đđŠđ˘đľ đľđŠđŚ đ§đśđ¤đŹ' you thought and when the situation finally registered in your brain you kissed back and you felt her smile against your lips.
When you pulled away, you looked at her shocked âđŹđđđŠ đŠđđ đđŞđŞđŞđđđ ..." you whispered while touching your lips making her chuckle.
She grabbed both of your hands as she stepped closer to you.
âI like you too, sillyâ she said bashfully.
âOh my god, youâre so cuteâ you said dazed making her blush.
âArenât you going to ask me?â Bridget said fidgeting with her hands.
âAsk you?â Youre brain was NOT working at all.
âTo be your girlfriend?â She smiled shyful.
âOh-â you were short circuiting âoh!â you cleared your throat.
âBridget, would you do me the honor of going on a date with me and becoming my girlfriend?â You smiled.
âYES! YES! YES!â She squealed hugging you âiâve been dreaming of that question for so longâ

Genre: Fluff
Note: it was kinda hard to write for the Queen of Hearts as only her mean side was shown but I truly believe that Bridget is still in there somewhere.
You had been by The Queen of Heartâs side even before she was The Queen of Hearts. Your best friend used to be Bridget, one of the sweetest princess in Merlin academy.
But now, in everyone elseâs eyes, she was the cruelest Queen there had ever been. âOff with their headsâ rolls down her tongue as natural as walking for a normal person.
Any normal human would turn their backs against the Queen once they knew it was too late for her to be the sweet Bridget again, but you were never normal.
âBridget, youâve gotta stop being so harsh on Red.â You tried to reason with the Queen as she walked around your room and you were starting to feel dizzy.
It was midnight when a sudden explosion bursted your doors open, revealing the Queen of Hearts. Then 2 hours later, she was still in your room complaining about her daughter while touching and messing up your precious stuff.
âI told you to address me by my title!â The Queen glared at you but you chose to ignore her fiery gaze, no matter how much she threatened to chop your head off you knew she would never find the heart to do so. No matter how small it became. âAnd last time I checked, she is my daughter! Not yours!â
âShe might as well be, I helped raise her!â You shouted, startling Bridget and even yourself at the outburst. You muttered an apology before taking a sip of focus potion to wake you up fully. You were so out of it after only getting 2 hours of sleep.
âWhatever, the point is sheâs only a kid, sheâs in the phase where she needs to figure out who she is. And who she is definitely isnât you.â You slowly approached her, putting a hand on her shoulder In comfort while also trying to knock some sense into her.
âRemember when we were teenagers and all the fun we had? Your parents were never as controlling as you are with Red. Maybe we should bake cakes together again like the good old days!â
âFun? I remember how much fun they all had when I was weak, gullible, and humiliated! Luckily you were sick or you might as well be dead to me like everyone else that was there!â The Queen exclaimed, her hands laid on a knife you were heating up earlier.
Your heart sunk deeper at the reminder of the day when your lives changed forever. You and Bridget had always been friends, since babies. Your parents practically raised you both together as both of your Kingdoms were united.
Ella came in view when you and Bridget arrived at Merlin academy, in a way she was her own person but she just felt like one of you guys so it wasnât surprising how quickly the three of you got along.
Your friendship was great, well until one fateful day when everything changed. For worse.
The three of you planned to go to the dance together seeing as Bridget badly wanted to go, you and Ella never really liked those things but agreed to go anyways, for Bridget.
Just a day before the night of the dance, you had gotten terribly sick and chose to stay in your shared dormitory with Bridget. Your friends wanted to stay and look after you but you didnât want to ruin their fun, especially Ella after you overheard Prince Charming talking about asking her out to dance.
If only you knew the outcome, you wouldâve begged them not to leave your side.
A few hours after the night started, you were woken up by loud noises wandering around your dorm. You couldnât make out who it was as you were too sick to move, but you knew it was Bridget from the second she mumbled about getting revenge of some sort.
But that was it, after that night, you werenât getting any better so your parents took you back home to let the family doctor take care of you.
When you became healthy enough to go back to school, everything changed. Everyone avoided Bridget as if she was a plague, even Ella. And it pained you that you never asked what really happened, all you knew was that youâll be by Bridgetâs side no matter what.
So when King Beast and Queen Belle decided to unite all the Kingdoms, only yours and Bridgetâs Kingdom rejected their peace offering. And as a result, your Kingdom and hers were forever blocked from ever going out of your Kingdomâs land.
âBridget! Are you alright?â You immediately dropped all your belongings and rushed to her aid. The Queen flinched in pain when you accidentally pressed on her wound, âSorry!â
You gently pulled her to sit down on a chair before using your free hand to grab one of your healing potions. âThis is going to stink for a while. Are you okay?â you gently held her hand before looking up, right into her eyes. The same eyes you would get lost in every time you looked, and she looked at you the same way.
Suddenly it was like she was a teenage girl again, when life was sweet. Remembering the sparks that would go off whenever you held her hands as you placed on a bandage when she accidentally burnt herself while you guys were on your weekly baking date. The way you would hold her so warmly that all her senses would go off and all she wanted to do was be in your arms forever.
The feelings she had that got locked up when she became the Queen of Hearts, what she didnât know was that she had already taken yours and you had forgotten it too.
You both came back to your senses when the sound of a thunder was heard, immediately moving apart from each other. You dropped her hand in panic and she was starting to miss that feeling. And she didnât like feeling that feeling one bit.
âOh, ummâŚdo you want to bake a cake together? Unless you want cookies or cupcakes or both!â Your question was more like a demand since you gave her no chance to speak, grabbing her hands while ignoring the old butterflies that had finally grew wings again.
âWeâre going to make cookies!â You claimed once you and Bridget arrived at your kitchen, you usually prefer for your bakers to make whatever you desire but baking it yourself just felt perfect at this time around.
The whole situation felt awkward at first, you werenât used to being the one talking. Bridget was usually the one who starts and ends the conversations, mostly ranting about problems in her own Kingdom and her daughter.
But ever since that moment you shared, she had been quiet and weird, it was like her body was there but she wasnât quite herself. It wasnât too bad since she actually did help with mixing up the ingredients. But you really hated feeling awkward around your best friend. You terribly wanted to break the ice, so you did.
âOh, you got something there.â You slowly headed her way, reaching out near her face pretending to get a non existent thing off her face. âRightâŚthere! Ah HAH!â you grinned as you threw flour to her way.
Bridget stayed still, at first you thought that that would be the end of your precious head but then you saw a smile grew on her face as she did the same back. âIâm not letting you get away so easily!â
After almost 17 years, you finally found a way to see old Bridget again. You really never appreciate the small moments until it is taken away from you.
âGame on, my Queen!â
Half an hour later and the whole kitchen was filled with flour, the room was basically whiter than Snow White herself. You and Bridget laughed all night before taking a break on the floor.
âRemember when we used to have those weekly baking dates and it would always end up with flour all over the place?â You reminisced of your younger days as you settled yourself down next to Bridget. Leaning on her shoulders gently, a habit of yours since long long ago.
âYour mother would get so disappointed and made us clean it ourselves but we still did it again. Of course I remember.â Bridget smiled but not like the smile she usually does when ordering guards to cut peopleâs head off, this was different, genuine, and for a moment you saw the same look she used to hold before everything changed.
The look that had you lost in time and all you could do was look at her like she was the only one who existed in your world.
âI love you.â You nervously blurted out. One of the things you hated the most since birth was hiding your own feelings, it was suffocating, especially since you were hiding from the person you practically spent your whole life with.
And for a moment, you thought she wonât feel the same way. After all, you guys never addressed the situationship you had going on. It was greatly pushed aside after all the problems Bridget faced after that sorrow night.
âYou do?â The Queenâs eyes grew soft as she looked back at you, her hands gently caressing your face.
âI always have, and always will. I loved you since that day you defended me from those bullies even though they were twice your size, we were twelve. You were always the sweetest, even to people who never deserved it.â You chuckled, it was bittersweet but at least you and Bridget had always been by each otherâs side, no matter what.
Even if, for the past 20 years you guys had to push aside your true feelings for each other.
âI planned to come clean about my feelings to you years ago but as you know, time loves to mess with u-â your words were cut off when Bridget leaned in, using her finger to lift your chin up before pulling you in for a long much needed kiss.
The softness of her lips almost took your breath away. The longing and desperate feelings that had been built up were release as you melted into her hold.
it's so shit I'm so sorry, but i feel like every idea just flees out of my head atm đĽ˛
"I will destroy you!" Uliana roared, preparing herself to run after Bridget. Eating too many flamingo feathers had its side effects, and it was about time she found out that when someone says 'don't do it' you simply listen.
It enraged you. She was so stupid, yet everyone feared her. How so? You'd never understand why they didn't stand up to her. What would she do? Run after you? It was all she was capable of, after all.
You needed to put a stop to her dumb frantics, so you stepped up with your dagger, holding it close to her neck.
"Oooo, we dont wanna do that, do we?" You grinned, basically threatening her with death. It was exciting, thrilling. Being just a step away from getting rid of someone, having that power over them. Being in a possession of their life thread, having the scissors steady in your hand. It was amusing to you. The goosebump on your skin shows from the rush you felt deep inside.
The dagger you held so close it was pinning her skin, making a slight dent. Her breath on hold. "I suggest you step away from our princess of hearts or you'll make an excellent sushi tonight, darling." You mirrored her peers' shocked expressions. None of them daring to step up to you. You were feared amongst them, being slightly older than the rest of the students, and kind of crazy too. It had its advantages having your twisted history behind.
"Marinated octopus. How does it sound?" Or would you like something last season? Shrimp pasta?" You smiled ominously, pricking the sharp end deeper in her neck, almost making it bleed. You could sense the blade cutting her first skin, making her immediately stumble back.
"You- You're mad!" She managed to yell out, holding her fresh wound before she took her turn, walking away, or should you say, basically running away. Your graceful dagger flew after her pinning itself right beside her head, trimming her friends hair in the process.
"Might be, just a little bit" you giggled, making the blade return to you with a swift wave of your hand. Turning yourself to the other group, you fixed your button-up shirt. Red and Chloe standing in awe at how well mannered you seemed even though you almost committed murder right in front of their eyes. Red thanking you internally for saving her mother. "But aren't we all?" You grinned, your cheshire cat-like smile making everyone around you blush. You were charming, to say the least, although it was not thanks to your name. "Look at that," you pouted, pointing at the shattered plate in front of you. "She wasted such good cupcakes. What a shame"
"Don't worry, Y/n, i think I have enough for everyone!" Bridget smiled brightly. "Thank you for your savior service" She bowed jokingly, giving you one of her famous smiles in return.
"And look at you cupcake, How could anyone not like you?" You waved your hands in the air, making her broken belongings whole again. Holding it our for her. "This plate was too pretty to be broken. Dont let yourself be broken, beautiful, " you winked before dissappearing into thin air. Red and Chloe blinking a couple of times to check if they saw right.
"Woah, who was that? Hot, sexy and amusing?" Red spoke up, getting a glare in return from both Bridget and Chloe. "I'm just saing" the girl threw her arms in the air in a defensive manner.
"That was Y/n. We don't really know much about her" Bridget dreamily explained, holding her beautifully decorated plate close to her chest.
"Only that she's done some horrible stuff. And she's kinda insane" Ella blabbered, rolling the cupcake trolley.
"It was for good!. And she's right, we're all mad here" Bridget butt in, snapping herself out of her daydreams.
" If you can call cutting someone's lim-"
"Ella, they don't have to know that" bridget laughed nervously, taking another plate from her trolley "She's not that bad how they make her out to be-here you go-" The pink haired princess walked around giving out more of her delicious cupcakes. "She is actually so nice-"
"She commits crime at least 3 times a week, and her go-to 'entertaining' hobby is watching people stumble and fall over this tree root" Ella butt in pointing at the object.
"But, she paints me pink roses and brings me many different ingredients for my sweets. Isn't that nice?" Bridget hummed, making red and chloe look at themselves
"Do you think what i think?" Red whispered to her fellow 'friend', the other just nodding her head.
-
"You know, I think you should ask Bridget out for castlecoming" Red blurted out while walking after/stalking you around the school.
"Yeah? Why is that so?" You giggled, holding a book about baking. You were currently at the library, just trying to make your way to the comfy corner made specifically for residents of the library. Unfortunately, you couldn't use it if you weren't reading a book of some sort. Hence why you took ahold of whatever, with intentions of taking a nap in the place.
"Well, you seem to be liking her, aaaand she seems to be liking you too" You laughed, you loved being in these kinds of situations.
"Well loves, what made you think I like this princess?" You looked up from your book, you let's be real, were not paying attention to. The question made them rethink everything.
"You-She-em" Chloe tried, but nothing made sense
"I guess she's alright" You grinned at their troubled expressions.
Princess of hearts was more than alright. She was everything and nothing at the same time. She was the air you breathed and the hard ground you walked on. She is like the ocean breeze early in the morning, the sunbeams lightly musking your face and the cold water splashing your body. She lit up the whole room with her bright eyes and cute smile. Like a walk through a rainy forest, she made you content and calm. Her delicate and soft features fairly contrast to your strong ones. It made you only more drawn to her.
"Wouldn't you want to take her out?"
"You're very persistent. interesting" you hummed "And why would I do that, Red my love?" You flew up from your comfortable place, spinning around doing flips. Red grimacing at the nickname, Chloe glaring at you "Chill Charming" The snort you let out made chloe burst out one of her own "I will take your mommy to the dance Red. Don't want her turning out evil, do we?"
"How do you-?"
"Well, I might have or have not overheard you twoooo, talking maybee" You flew circling them both, extra dragging your words making them annoyed "Aboouut an evil Queen who likes to behead people, whom also happened to be your mom and she sentenced your mom to death" You grinned spitting it all out in one breath "Crazy little woman"
"So now you know"
"Yeah, that's what I said. Are you deaf darling?" She was ready to jump you but got stopped by Chloe, thankfully. "I'm going, my children. I have to make a proposal for your mom now, do i?"
"Only my mom not hers!"
"Of course!" You laughed, dissappearing in the frame.
-
"Hello Bridget" You whispered into her ear appearing behind her. Your lips musking her skin. she stopped breathing for a hot second, staring intensively at her notebook. A beautiful yours heart shaped necklace with lots of cards and sweets drawn on the page. Her slender manicured fingers held onto a pencil, touching up some lines. "That is amazingly jaw-dropping." You kept on whispering
"Thank you" She whispered out herself, turning her head to the side. Her lips almost touching yours in the process. Her big brown eyes dropping down to your lips, then back up to your own enchanting ones.
"You know if you want to kiss me, you just have to ask" You leaned closer, bumping your noses together, giving her your biggest grin possible.
"What if i do?" Her sudden confidence made you stumble a bit back, but her quick grip on your collar dragged you in closer "...want to kiss you" she breathed out into your lips. you felt every bone in your body snap.
"Then we might just have to do that" You looked down on her lips, almost closing the blank space between you two if it weren't for the sudden yank of your shirt from the back.
"Please don't do that here" Red grimaced, secretly smirking when she saw you on the ground.
"Party pooper!" You floated up placing yourself between two girls. "Ohh, such a sunshine!" You threw your arm around Ella, the girl too stiff to shrug it off.
"Whatever"
"Sooooo, Ella tell me how's it going with little prince Charming" You grinned against her cheek, she blushed hard at the mention of him
"Did he ask you to the castle coming yet?" Bridget asked excitedly, almost pushing you off the bench.
"He did, but I'm not going. i think i made my point clear-"
"Oh c'monnnn. At least he asked you" Bridget pouted "I wish someone would ask me" the girl dragged, looking down on her drawing, popping her head on her palm. Red looked at you, raising her eyebrows.
"Cupcake" with just a single word everyone was looking at you, not a bit of your confidence faltering away. With a wave of your hand a pink rose appeared, well developed with only a single thorn and two leafs. "Could I take you to castle coming?" you asked in all seriousness, presenting her the rose. Her eyes widened at your gesture.
"Well, there weren't any roses for me, surely," Ella grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at the other girls.
"So what do you say, princess?" She threw her arms around your neck, engulfing you in a tight hug.
"Hell yes! I'd love it, actually. " She smiled widely, giving you a kiss on the cheek. You felt the blood rushing in you. You loved the feeling of her lips on you, her touch. She was so soft, like a pillow. So delicate. It made you want more.
You never thought about the princess of hearts that way. Actuallyy you did, once or twice. But before that, she was always just there. Just someone you'd defend before Uliana and her crew. Someone who did cool card tricks and someone who was so easily prank-able. But you wouldn't dare. She was good-hearted, almost perfect. No one was that pure, and still, here she was, pure as the driven snow. A pretty girl there was no denying. You've never imagined what her touch would feel like if it lingered on you a bit more than a few seconds. Or if she's keeping any secrets, she had to, right?
-
"You know Bridget, you look absolutely gorgeous" You smiled, not sarcastically, a true genuine smile you haven't done for years. It made her blush for the millionth time this evening.
Your hands were resting on her small waist, hers on your shoulders, making her fingers intertwine on your neck. Slowly swaying your bodies together in the rythm of the music. Not your thing completely, but her presence changed it entirely. It was probably the last song of the night, leaving only a few couples in the ballroom. But you both had such great fun you wouldn't wish on heavens to go home right now. Just being here with her was the right place, and you felt it deep inside.
"Thank you" Was all she made out "Thank you for taking me here" She laid her head on your chest, placing you both even closer.
"No worries. I could do it a million times if it meant getting to spend time with you. My heart" you swayed both of you slowly, the song never ending.
"I loved tonight, I'm glad im here with you. I hope we'll be able to spend more time together" She looked up at you, her big brown eyes staring closely and longingly. Your heart is beating rapidly in your chest. You placed your hand in her hair, grabbing the back of her head.
"Of course we will. I'm making sure of that" Her eyes lit up, brightening the whole room for you. You were absolutely in awe, speechless. She had never looked better. The dim lights only making her singular features pop more. No one will ever look better than her.. At least you won't be looking at them. You've got your only one star, your moon. She was not yours, but she will be. "Can I kiss you?" The sudden question did not startle her in fact she did not mutter a word. A single nod with a smile was all that it took.

Sorry if its this short but I just spend 20 minutes on writing my long request to u and it deleted itself đ
So all in short (was supposedto be short but i got lost in my thoughts again) I was thinking the situation on the castlecoming ball where Ulianas cupcake turns Bridget into this atrocious monster, everyone starts laughing at her to the point her eyes water, truly feeling humiliated for the first time. The reader comes back from getting drinks for her and her date and sees her completely in shambles looking like she could be exploding any second. They step up and do something like
"How dare all of you laugh at this poor soul, she's been nothing but kind to you all and you give her something like this in return? I know it might seem funny to you, this situation, how she looks and you want to laugh, but it's hurting her. She's been literally humiliated and she didn't even do anything wrong. Tell me what fid she do to deserve this from yall, help you with homework? let you cheat from her on an exam? bake you a cupcake every damn week so youd like her for fucks sake? all you've been doing is taking from her and now you want to laugh AT HER, instead of defending the one who would defend you no matter what"
(or something like that)
and the students would apploud all saying something kind about their colleague, which made her heart swell.
That also could wear down the spell, something like "seeing through her appearance into her heart, speaking up about it, made her true self come out, revealing her beautiful pink locks and her amazing tearing up smile, dressed in a pretty dress"
she could throw herself into the arms of the reader thanking them with her whole self, you could do the ending romantically or no however you want ml!!
warnings: ambiguous relationship (there is some affection at the end, but you can choose to interpret that however you want), a couple swears (fuck), bullying & poisoning
note: thank you so much for this request, i truly love the level of detail, it really inspired me!! âĽď¸âĽď¸ reader is based off elsa, and has her powers + hints towards her backstory (e.g. being outcast in the first frozen movie).
in one hand, you clutch a glass of punch so tensely that a sheen of ice has begun to spread across its surface, while your other hand is pressed tightly against your chest, as you scramble to keep a mug of lukewarm hot chocolate from slipping amongst your palmful of bow-shaped little sweets you scooped from a bowl of bridgetâs favourites. itâs like a tightrope act, as you wobble back and forth, shifting endlessly to the whims of sweaty bodies slamming into your shoulders, and dancers bouncing across your path rapidly.
youâre sending a polite smile over your shoulder to zellieâafter sheâd tugged an oblivious flynn out of your way seconds before collisionâwhen a scream, so high-pitched youâre shocked your ears can even comprehend it, pierces through the festivities.
your eyebrows shoot up, your feet halting in their place just as everyone elseâs seem to, as the following moment of silence suffocates the ballroomâeven the pied piper is stunned, as his hands drop to stall the records atop his turntable, and the sudden lack of upbeat music escalates the thick tension.
from where you stand on the outskirts of the dancefloor, you canât see so much as the slightest hint of what just happenedâeven when you attempt to slip through your peers to get a closer look, youâre jostled aside as the massesâ initial fright subsides, and they all rush inwards to do the same.
onlookers quickly find their voices in huddles of whispers, interspersed with gasps, that soon morph into⌠laughter?
your chest is beginning to feel far too small to accommodate the thumping of your heart, your unease growing with every second you canât make out the glittering figures under the spotlight. a pixie lets out a squeaky scoff as you attempt to nudge her out of your way, taking a deep breath as she builds up to reprimand you for daring to so much as graze her designer dress, that you will be responsible for paying the price to mend it!âwhen a familiar dark feyâs hiss followed by a burst of signature villainous chortles echo from ahead.
and, in response, a pitiful whimper shatters through heavy breaths that desperately will themselves not to break into sobs.
your stomach dropsâyou know those sounds, those miserable little signs of the dam about to break, from all those late nights, as your hugs crushed bones and reassuring whispers rambled on so long you would put headmaster merlinâs lectures to shame.
you gasp, the name tearing upwards through your dry throat like a dying rasp, âbridget.â
the snooty pixie almost slips off her feet from the sheer momentum of you whipping away from her, her indignant cries and appalled squeals reprimanding you for your shattered cups that fall at her feet following you as you disappear into the flurry of neon lights and wicked chatter slicing from every directionâwith all your focus on the sounds of bridgetâs cries as the vkâs taunt and jab at her, which you follow like the north star with every merciless shove to barrel through the crowd at the pace of a riptide.
your arms ache with every push and your shoulders bruise with every check, until your thunderous footsteps break through the final circle of onlookers (where they scoff at your aggression, but quickly return to retching and aweing and pointing their perfectly manicured fingers at the girl at the centre of it all, with their mouths agape like patrons of a zoo) and into the empty space surrounding the vkâs and their victims, as everyone else refuses to breach the border and risk getting caught in whirlwind of the vkâsâor the creature standing where bridget once stoodâsâwrath.
you clutch your stomach like a boot kicked you square in the gut, a torrid gasp bouncing against the towering walls of the ballroom, as you finally come face to face with bridget; scrambling pathetically for a foothold of dignityâdistraught. Â
there is muddy-green scales where her soft skin should be, from which boils and warts burst from the gaps between, staining her body all the way from where her bones have snapped into the shape of dragonâs taloned legs, upwards to her clawed hands that hang off painfully coiled arms, all the way to her face; from which hangs grey hair taut like straw where her luscious pink girls used to fall like puffs of cotton candy, with demonâs horns so heavy they weigh her neck down.
she turns in panicked circles, watery eyes flickering upon the faces of every classmate that stares, that grimaces, that looks pale in disgust at her atrocious appearance, that laugh and smirk and mock the ruined princess to their friends with poorly contained whispers of which she hears every callous word.
never have you seen her so broken before your own bleary eyes, as her hands flutter in a vain attempt to hide her beastly features behind shivering palms. the smile she always uses to brush off rejections and snide comments is shaky upon her lipsâevery twitch of her mouth stunted by the large fang-like tusks protruding from the bottom row of her teeth, like the molars of a jabberwocky.
if she were still made of her own flesh, her fingers would be burning white with the force that she grips the half-eaten cupcake in her hand, tendrils like smoke as remnants of dark magic waft out of it as her claws dig into her palmâthe crumbs dust the ground, and as they drip down like blood, the vkâs mock her for letting the baked good go to waste, cackling as they urge the girl whoâs already beyond recognition to take another bite.
with one last choked gasp for air, bridgetâthe girl youâve watched smile and politely chuckle through everything the world throws at her, the girl who never lets insulting notes tucked into her locker or gum thrown into her hair get her down, the girl who should be dancing her perfect huge heart out right now, as she lives the picture-perfect night of her first ever school dance sheâs been dreaming of for yearsâgives up, and lets her legs give out beneath her.
without a second thought, your shoes are skidding across the slippery dancefloor as you sprint to catch the collapsing girl before she hits the ground and lets it swallow her whole.
your arms wrap around her back as you sink to your knees, guiding her into your lap even as she recoils from your touch. with every wriggle and writhe, and barely audible whisper to âjust let me go, let me disappear, foreverâ, you force your heartbeat to calm as you cup her head to your chest, even as the razor-sharp tips of her horns threaten the fabric over your shoulders, and dig your fingers into the ruffles of her dishevelled dress. until, to the encouragement of your demonstrations of even breaths and softly cooed reassurances that sheâs safe with you, she finally slumps into your arms, and lets out a sob that quakes from her chest to yours.
âitâs okay, itâs okay, iâve got you,â you whisper between her wails louder than a griffonâs, and do your best to hum the tune of your motherâs lullaby that you know she loves, without breaking into tears yourself.
but, as you rock her back and forth in the cocoon sheâs made for herself in your lap amongst the folds of her dress and your own outfit, the brutal voices of judgemental classmates slowly build up once moreâtheir volume rising like an unforgiving tide, dragging the both of you under until youâre entirely submerged in a newfound burst of giggles and snickers.
you try to ignore it, gently cupping bridgetâs rough face to wipe away the trails of makeup pouring down her uneven cheeksâbut surrounding predators, hungry for drama and cheap laughs, refuse to let the two of you rest.
âsheâs got a tail, ew!â someone shouts, immediately prompting bridget to shuffle where sheâs sprawled across the floor, scrambling to hide the appendage, but only ending up ripping her ruined dress further along its jagged spines.
the tremaine sisters titter as seams rip, drizella grinning cruelly as she guffaws, âaw, it looks like a ratâs!â
âare you a rat, princess?â anastasia smirks.
emboldened by the crowdâs support, the vkâs dare to close in on yours and bridgetâs huddled forms, as james hook smirks, âoh no, sheâs definitely a troll.â
a slimy sea witchâs limb lurks towards you, âdo you need help returning to under your bridge, where you belong, troll?â uliana coos, and brings the tip of her tentacle to wrench bridgetâs face from where it hides within your chest, so she can reveal the inconsolable girlâs face to amuse the crowd, as if her squeezed-shut eyes framed with endless streams of tears, and chewed-down lips trying to trap heaving sobs shouldâcouldâinvoke any reaction other than pure heartbreak.
your hands move quicker than your mouth, as they whip out in defiance of ulianaâs heartless tauntâjagged spears of ice bursting from your palms, forming a freezing wall separating the villains from further abusing the girl that rushed to shove her head firmly back into the safety of your chest the moment she was releasedâand you screech, âhow dare you!â
with wild eyes, your gaze pivots to now face the bystanders who gasped at your outburst like this is all just one big pantomime put on to entertain themâwhile they ignore the undeniable truth, that, once bridget is hollowed out and no longer fun to play with anymore, the vkâs will turn to use one of them as their next doll to toss around.
âhow dare all of you?!â you scowl as every pair of eyes you meet in anger cowers away in shame under your fury, âbridget has been nothing but a fucking angel to every last one of you, and this is how you treat her? you laugh? you point and sneer a-and make fun of herâwhile sheâs humiliated becauseâ because what? because she was kind enough to trust people who never give her the time of day? because she was openminded and wanted to give them a second chance? because sheâs a good person?!â
you crane your head to face left at the sound of a scoff, and fix flora âthe âgoodâ fairyâ with a glare so cold it almost turns her red dress snow-white. she swallows thickly as her pale-stricken sisters tentatively abandon her side, fading into the shadows of the crowd to escape your ire.
âand thatâher generosity, her goodwill, her friendlinessâis funny to you?â you tilt your head expectantly, until flora mutters a guilty âno, not at allâŚâ with a rattle of her head, ââbut you all found her pain so funny, that you chose the side of these literal bullies, who torment all of you just the same, who spent all night baking a potion to poison bridgetâto torture her, toââ
âto turn her into a monster!â gaston shouts from where heâs pretending he doesnât have to do little hops from the back row to catch so much as a glimpse of the action.
âno!â you flinch violently, the pitchforks and torches that frame the halls of your past flashing in your mindâs eye just like they had when your own neighbours had hunted you down like you were a danger, a threat, a monster.
bridget whines where she presses her cheek into the salty puddle on your chest, nudging you backwards as she tries to bury herself impossibly further into the safety of your arms. you run your hand over her thin whisps of hair as your arm wrapped snugly around her torso gives a comforting squeeze.
âhe doesnât know what heâs saying,â you mutter under your breath, âi know better than anyone that you, bridget, are the furthest thing from a monster.â
you shake your head as you look back up at the blinding lights and intrusive stares.
âno,â you affirm, staring right through the crowd (and past prince adam, who, for a split second, offers you a reassuring nod of someone who understands what itâs like to be beaten down and declared a beast) until you hope gastonâand everyone else who desperately needs to find their hearts hidden somewhere in the cold, dark, cavities of their chestsâcan feel the weight of your gaze, âsheâs not a monster, sheâs bridget. sheâs the one who never hesitates to help you with your homework, sheâs the one who always stops by to ask if youâre okay, no matter how busy she isâ sheâs the one who lets you cheat off her exams, for fuckâs sake! sheâs the one who bakes you cupcakes every dayâ all because she just wants to make a friend, and spread as much joy as she can.
âso, when the girl who shared the best boutique in town with you just so you could find your dream castlecoming dressââ drizella and anastasia analyse the sticky floor below them with guilt, ââwho stayed up all night copying her notes from the class you slept through so you wouldnât fall behindââ princess aurora musters a remorseful pout at the reminder, ââwho gives everything to all of you, and never expects anything in return; when she needs your help, your support, just once⌠you laugh?â
you turn to the vkâs, standing your ground as you refuse to look away and grant peace to the distorted visions of growing sheepishness through the barricade of ice.
âyou laugh,â you meet each of the vkâs eyes, your wide pools of indignation reflecting back to them faces that slowly dawn upon an unexpected contrition, âknowing full well that if you were in her shoesâcrying, hurting, left all aloneâshe wouldnât hesitate to help you.â
with tightly pursed eyebrows and a moue creased along your unwittingly wet cheeks, you shake your head with a huff.
the world around you is stunned, not a single face among the crowd of every single one of your peers dares to so much as breathe too loud, as theyâre overcome with a nauseous feeling akin to being sent to their rooms as children, knowing what they did was wrong as their heart sinks with regretâbut also knowing that their guardian has grown too infuriated for a simple, meek, ââŚiâm sorry?â to be enough to mend things anymore.
with one last sigh, youâve already begun mentally preparing yourself to carry the dispirited husk of the girl, whoâd wanted nothing more than to simply drink watered-down punch and dance until her feet numbed tonight, back to her dorm, to cry herself to sleep in the warm embrace of your arms and the dim stars of the arendelle night sky projected from the nightlight you gifted her.
but, just as you give the gentlest jostle to bridgetâs shoulder where rough scales peak out of her puffed sleeves, a melodic voice breaks the silence.
âiâve never gotten such a high grade in magical history before, as i did when you wrote those notes for meâŚâ auroraâs eyes flicker between yours and where she tries to meet bridgetâs, as she clasps her hands over her heart, âthank you, bridget. iâm sorry i didnât tell you sooner.â
your features soften inch by inch, with hope, as a beat passes, and tiana steps to the front of the crowd behind you.
âi donât remember the last time i ran out of a single cooking ingredient,â though you canât see it from where youâre anchored down by bridgetâs weight, tiana smiles fondly, âevery single time i need something, bridget is there, carrying twice as many bags of flour as she can manage.â
to your left, lathyn, another baker, timidly nods along with tianaâand, suddenly spurred on by her boyfriendâs participation, anastasia breaks free of her sisterâs tight hold around her wrist, and raises her hand.
âthis is the best dress iâve ever worn, and i wouldâve never found it without bridgetâs help!â she declares with a little flourish of her skirt, grinning widely, before nudging her sister beside her who scrunches her face up hesitantly, âand my sister loves hers too, donât you!â
drizella huffs, firmly crossing her arms and pouting⌠but after relentless encouragement (though sheâd call it harassment) from her sister, she grumbles, ââŚi do,â before relaxing her arms to her sides with a sigh, âi really love it. thank you, bridget.â
steadily, murmurs of agreement build up into a cacophony of voices calling out to thank bridget for kind deeds sheâs done for them. from tracking down rare library books, to lending umbrellas, to simply being herself and offering a smile to someone having a rough dayâyouâre surrounded by your classmates finally realising everything bridget does for them out of the goodness in her heart, and recognising what a lovely person she truly is.
thereâs a quiet stirring in your lap, when, ever so slowly, bridgetâs eyes lift to meet yours, as they glisten with a hope youâd almost feared you might never see from her again when youâd watched her fall.
even through the layers of scales and claws and witchâs warts, the softest hint of a smile begins to form upon her chapped lips, as she rises from your lap.
âi-iâm sorry, bridget,â a voice cracks through all others, and the commotion stills, as everyone turns to face morgie le fay, a vk stepping apart from the downtrodden others.
he falters, eyes drowning in regret and fingers fidgeting shakily, when bridget twists in your hold to meet his gaze. after a moment of silence, and a deep breath, she offers him a weak smile and a trembling nod, and he continues.
âyou spent three days searching for my pet snake when he went missing. e-even if it turned out he was just in my room the whole time⌠it meant a lot,â he sighs, âmy own friends didnât bother to help at all⌠but you didâyou put up missing posters, and bought treats to lure him out, a-and kept comforting me when i worried about himâand i didnât even have to ask⌠you just⌠helped, and never asked for anything in return.â
bridgetâs back curls against your chest as she shrinks in on herself bashfully, âoh⌠well⌠i just did what anyone would doâŚâ
your head whips to the right as a disbelieving scoff interrupts bridgetâand you feel the first inklings of a budding smile pulling at the edges of your lips, when you come face to face with ella (flanked by an empathetically smiling charming, and fay on the verge of tears on bridgetâs behalf), stepping out of the crowd with her shimmering blue dress slightly rustled, from having rushed through stubborn classmates and brushed against too many wayward elbows to count the moment she returned from having snuck off with charming, and had sprinted into the eye of the storm before the person she was eavesdropping on could even finish gossiping about the âhilarious prankâ the vkâs had just pulled on bridget.
âthat is not what anyone would do, bridget,â ella insists, âitâs what only you would do, because youâre the nicest, strongest, most amazing person this whole world has ever been lucky enough to see.â
charming cheers, âyouâre the best, bridget!â and you let out a surprised laugh in spite of yourself, when the girl who was insisting she hated his guts mere hours ago, nods vigorously in agreement, and grabs his hand to thrust them in the air enthusiastically.
clapping her hands together faster than the flaps of a pixieâs wings, fay lets out a mousy woohoo! in agreement.
like a ripple building into a tidal wave, corsets strain and suit jackets rustle as others join in to rally around bridgetâwho chokes on a mix of a sob and a laugh, as she frantically rubs at her dewey eyes, triple-checking to make sure she isnât just imagining this swell of love suddenly surrounding her, like the dark clouds of a thunderstorm parting to reveal warm rays of sunlight beaming down upon her and drying away her tears.
a tingling sensation bubbles beneath the surface of her disfigured skin, spreading from her fingertips up to her smiling face, as the light of everyoneâs adoration seeps through the cracks and acknowledges the true goodness bursting from the heart of the girl kneeling before them. and as their piercing gazes no longer see a grotesque creature, but rather delve deeper to find the selfless girl looking through the tender eyes that watch in awe back at them; bridget breaks through the cracks in her deceiving appearance.
with a wince and a gasp, bones snap back into place as scales fade away to reveal her real skin underneath, dotted with her heart-shaped freckles and dustings of pink body glitter. she lets out a giggle at the silky strands tickling her shoulders, as the curls of her meticulously-styled hair bounce back into place.
bursts of shimmering golds and blues curl around her form from both sides, as fay casts a spell to mend every stitch in bridgetâs dress back to new, whilst flora offers an apologetic smile and her own magic wand outstretched, wiping away mascara-stained cheeks and returning the princessâ makeup to the rosy blush and shimmering eyelids it had been when the night begun.
feverishly, bridget shuffles around to face you once more, her sputtered giggles infectious as she wipes at the tears of joy bursting from the corners of her bright eyes.
you canât help but grin back at her, bathing in her light as your powers take on a mind of their own to build up a little cocoon around the two of you, finally granting you a moment to breathe in a pocket of privacy (to which zellie gives you a reassuring wink from the other side of the ice, as her and belle proceed to strongarm their varyingly scary jock boyfriends into helping to scare away the stragglers of the already dispersing crowd).
hot palms contrast the gentle shiver nipping at your cold fingertips, as they steady themselves on your shoulders in bridgetâs wobbly attempt to crawl up from your lap to meet you at eye level.
you let out a chuckle as she almost slips, and hold a steadying hand to her back, where she settles all but straddling your awkwardly kneeling bodyâand finally, free to frolic in the flowering fields sprawling the light end of the tunnel dark tunnel youâve escaped, the two of you have the chance to talk face-to-face.
she sits in silence for a moment, her eyes running up and down your body as if youâre the one who anyone should be fussing over right now, before she speaks up in a surprisingly timid mumble.
âiâŚâ she shakes her head with a frown you immediately feel the urge to smooth away, âi canât believe youâd do that for me⌠thank youââ
ânonsense,â your reply overlaps her rambled repeated thank youâs, bringing your hand that isnât wrapped snugly around her back up to pet the liquid smooth waves cascading down her head.
you press your lips lightly against her forehead, murmuring against her skin, âiâd do anything for you, bridget.â
she chides you in a melancholic whisper of your nameâsomehow still, deep down, believing herself undeserving of the same unconditional devotion that she throws herself into for everyone else, âthank you, b-but you donât have toââ
you smile against her cheek, âi want to. i want nothing more than to be here for you; in sickness and in health, for better or for worse.â
you punctuate your point with a chaste kiss to her glossy pink lips, relishing in the giggles sheâs unable to contain at the little âmwah!â sound you make.
in silence, a single tear trails down her cheekâthat youâre quick to swipe away, with one palm tenderly cupping her face. your cheerful grin softens into something apologetic, her own smile gazing softly back at you even as she sits in a puddle of tear-stained confetti and poisoned-cupcake crumbs.
âiâm so sorry your first dance was ruined,â you sigh.
but she shakes her head adamantly, her smile growing blinding, as she clasps your hand at her cheek and drops her other to pat your numbing leg furled beneath you, insisting, âitâs been perfect, thanks to youâ
your smile returns with a breathy laugh of delighted disbelief, âyouâre perfectâwith or without dragon scales.â
âyouâre just saying thatâŚâ
âbecause itâs true.â
and with one last peck to the tip of her noseâto which she recoils with an adorable little scrunchâthe two of you devolve into hushed giggles that rock you back and forth, like a pair of little kids at a sleepover hiding under the blankets to try to stay up past bedtime, but who ultimately are far too overtired to get through more than half a sentence before collapsing with their toothy grins pressed against one anotherâs shoulders.
Summary: Bridget and reader have a crush on each other but reader donât know Bridget is sad to know you donât like Castle coming but you pulled out the courage to ask her.
note: I just find Bridget so cute and sweet I couldnât help but write about her.
Red and Chloe watches as Uliana disappear with all the other villains following after her.Â
At least now they know whoâs gonna prank Bridget. The two girls then follow to where their mothers ran off to and had finally caught up to them inside.
âHowâs Uli doing?â Bridget asked still feeling guilty of what happen. âI feel so terrible. . . . I should go apologizeââ before she could turn to look for Uliana, Red had step in front of her, stopping her from leaving.
âDonât!â Ella said.. âShe did it to herself. And it serves her right.â She told her. âSheâs always bullying us.â She explained to the two girls.
Red nodded in understanding. But them all heads turn t someone calling for Ella. The door opened, stopping the conversation, and Prince Charming walked in.
âElla, you that was amazing.â He said to them.
Ella couldnât help the smile appear in her face at the princeâs arrival.
âYou ladies bested Uliana! I donât think anyoneâs ever done that before. That makes you braver than I am. And Iâm a prince!â He turned to Red and Chloe. âThough I donât really like to push the royal angle.â
Chloe couldnât help but smile at the familiar feeling of seeing her parents together. But red could only jut stare at the prince, her interest in him disappear when Chloe told her that he was her Dad in the future.
âYet you always find a way,â Ella said stiffly.
Charming grinned at her attitude and turned once more to Red and Chloe.
âYouâre the new girls, right? Iâm Charming.â
âThatâs debatable,â Ella argued.
Theyâre always the same even in the past. Chloe thought , recalling the same conversation her parents would have back home.
Charming ignored her comment and continued speaking to Red and Chloe. âAnd you guys picked the right time to show up, because . . . itâs Castlecoming week!â he said a little excited.
He tried to catch Ellaâs gaze, wanting to hint something but no luck. She seemed to be intentionally avoiding hisâ.
âCastlecoming is an outdated, elitist tradition,â Ella informed.
âWait, so . . . does that mean youâre not . . .â Charming question.
âSqueezing into a super-expensive dress and painful shoes? No thanks,â Ella stated.
Charming tried to hide his disappointment. âRight. Well . . . if you happen to change your mind, Iâll see ya there.â He flipped his hair in his charming way before he turned and took off down the hall.
Ella watched him, her expression unreadable. While her best friend just each them interact with a knowing smile on her face.
âHey, Ella, he seemed very interested in your plans for the festival,â Chloe said. âWas I sensing some chemistry?â She added in a suggestive tone.
âUh, no.â Ella scooted at the accusation. She turn to Bridget who was fidgeting with her necklace and gave her a look. âOkay, yeah, everyone loves him. And sure, heâs gorgeous and he seems nice, but you know how royalty is.â But she quickly corrected herself. âExcept you, B. Youâre different.â
Chloe stared at her mother in disbelief. How her parents had ever ended up together was starting to seem like a mystery to her. She had always thought they re love at first sight but seeing what just happen, that doesnât seems to be the case.
Bridget sighed longingly. âI just wish someone was that interested in going with me. Everyone already has plans, so . . .â she explained to Red, having a particular person in mind.
Bridget had intentions of asking but the fear of rejection compels her throw such plans and bury her unresolved feelings deep deep down where no one could every see or find out about.
Red seems to be curious about another information about her life, she never know who her mother ended up with. and hr mother wasnât one to share such intimate information with her.
During the conversation, something caught Ellaâs eyes, she look closer and notice a certain brunette walking on their way, you. Ella looked at her best friend with a sly smile.
âBridget?â
âHmm?â Bridget hummed in respond but a yelp escape her lips as Ella abruptly turn her. Now she is face to face with the very brunette she was thinking about.
âHey Bridgetâ the brunette princess greeted happily at the sight of the sweet pink princess.
âHey, Hi hi hi y/nâ Bridget couldnât help but laugh nervously when facing you. A side of her that arenât normally displayed.
It was most certainly foreign to see her mother like this. Red was already bombarded on how sweet her mother was compared to how she knows her. Red had seen how her mother rule over wonderland for 16 years of her life. The tyrant, said that her dress is as red as blood of all her victims off of their heads.Â
âI heard what happen.â you then inspect every each of Bridget, making sure nothing was out of place. You were so worried after you heard what happen that you practically jump from your seat and race to where she is. âIâm glad your okayâ you said after making sure she truly is okay.
âOf course Iâm fineâ Bridget smile again, feeling a little bashful of the display of concern from her. But them a frown reappears on her face as she recalls what happen. âI hope Uli is alrightâ
You smiled at the girl in front of you. No matter how mean or bad someone can be to her, she would still worry about others before herself. Which sometimes worries you.
âIâm sure sheâs fine and probably had it coming so you donât have to worry about her okay?â you reassured.
âOkayâ Bridget nodded and smile at the comfort.
âHey Ellaâ You turn to the blue-haired girl who had a cheeky smile on her face as she watches the two of you.
âHi y/nâ Ella greeted you back. Other than Bridget, you were the other princess she likes. âAny plans for Castlecoming?â She asked.
âOh, wellâŚI despise everything it stands for regardless of me being royalâ you said honestly, showing disinterest for the event.
You werenât one that enjoys dancing around in a heavy, extravagant ball gown, putting fake smiles and forcing to talk with other royal children in hopes of creating friendship with other kingdoms. That would only cause her stress rather than entertainment. You would rather stay in your room or better yet the library with a good book and hot cup beverage and drowning out the worries of reality.
You train of thoughts may had made you missed the sad look in Bridgetâs eyes but the other girls in your company didnât. It was obvious that the Princess of Hearts likes you but she lacks the courage to ask her.
Lucky for her, she doesnât have to.
Ella cleared her throat, catching your attention.
You turn to look at Ella. The blue-haired girl tilted her head towards Bridget, encouraging her.Â
You looked at Bridget whoâs sad expression disappeared the moment she notice that you were now looking at her.
âBridget?â You started.
âYes?âÂ
âWill you go to Castlecoming with me?â You cleared your throat and took a deep breath, collecting all your courage and finally asked. It no longer matter to you if you gets rejected today, a long as you were able to asked Bridget. And if she did said yes, then Castlecoming would definitely be more fun.
âBut you just said . . .â Bridget started.
âI know but if we go, it wonât be so bad.â You stated.
With that Bridget squealed in delight at the news. âYes yes yesâ she couldnât contain herself and starts jumping up and down and pulled you into a hug, squeezing in excitement.
âYouâre coming too Ellaâ You declared.âAnd weâre not taking no for an answerâ you said firmly when you saw the girl was about to decline the offer.
âWe could set her and Charming for a danceâ you whispered to Bridget who smiled in agreement.
With no way out Ella reluctantly agreed.Â
âWe have to go try on dresses right now.â Bridget let go you before taking Ellaâs hand in hers. âWe only have two days!â She spun into Ellaâs arms.
âI canât. I have to get back home. But maybe later?â
âOkay,â Bridget said, her smile ever leaving her face.
She was to excited, sheâs gong to castle coming with her best friend and the person sheâs been meaning to be with. She gave Ella one last squeeze before taking taking your hand, dragging you away with her.
âWho was that?â Red was finally able to asked as she saw the two princess running off to who knows where.
âPrincess Y/n also known as Bridget crush since foreverâ Ella said smiling she was finally seeing Bridget happy with someone.Â
But that didnât clear up anything for Red, she never know anyone by the name Y/n let alone someone who is close to her mom and has feelings for no less. Who is this person and how come she had never meet you before and yet you seems to be someone important to her motherâs life.
Where was this person when the prank happen, how come she had never heard of you before. Too many questions running inside her head that she didnât question Ella when she left to go home as well.
While at Bridgetâs dorm room, she had pulled out ever dress in her clothes checking each one and showing it to you.
To be honest you donât know which one to choose because Bridget looks beautiful in all of them.
Bridget didnât mind modeling of her dress, clearly enjoying herself especially now that you and her are together.
They spent most of the day inside the room, enjoying each otherâs company as they tried on different dresses theyâll be wearing.
And maybe after Castlecoming you could be more than dates going to the dance.
Chapter Summary: Being the daughter of Robin Hood is not the most easiest thing to live down. Even when you try to not steal, you always find yourself doing. But, never out of selfish needs. The only selfish steal you want to embark on is Bridget's heart.
*Bridget's POV*
You walk to Honors Alchemy, carrying your cupcakes. It was your specialty. You loved baking and sharing it with everyone.
As you look up, you see her...
"A-Ashlynn!" You call out to her
"Oh... Hey..." She says, uninterested, "You're.... Bridget right? From Wonderland?"
You happily nod, "That's me."
You look down at your tray and begin scrambling to remove the tray cover. However, just when you were about to present one to her, she was gone...

"Bridget, Ella, we have two new transfers, would you two split up and help them out please?" Merlin asks
One sits next to you whilst the other sits next to Ella.
"Are you okay?" You ask them
"First day jitters...." They explain
"Ahh, I know the perfect remedy," You say, "Try my fabulous Pink Flamingo Feather Cupcakes."
"Flamingo Feathers?" They ask
"Mhm," You say
They reluctantly take one however savor the first bite.
"I only recommend one since ingesting more would cause... Side effects," You say
+*+
After class, you begin passing cupcakes out to everyone.
The sun shines a little more brightly
When you take things a little more lightly
It's all gonna turn out nicely
With just a taste of your heart
It's likely you'll fall into something spicy
Just mix it up, you'll keep finding
That life is sweeter when you are
"So, you're friends with everyone?" The new transfer asks
"Oh, heavens no," You chuckle it off, "My only friend is Ella."
Another person takes a cupcake from your tray.
"But, with time, and enough treats, they will be," You say, your eyes drifting up the tower
A girl sitting on the windowsill; her eyes drift down to you, but then adverts to another direction.
"Even the loners..." You sigh, "That's Ashlynn Hood, Robin Hood's daughter."
"Her crush," Ella whispers to the transfers
"Hey! No!" You blush, "I just want to make sure she's included as well."
You take a single cupcake from the tray and hide it away.
"You seem to really have a soft spot for Ashlynn," The second transfer teases you
"She's the only one that has yet to be given anything from me," you explain, "So, I'm going to make sure she gets something today."
You all hear maniacal laughter and many different footsteps coming into the courtyard.
Hook for a hand, find the golden hook
Captain of the seas, I got 'em all shook
Son of Morgana, Serpentine
Morgie's the name
Better run and hide
Oh no...
The VKs.... Merlin Academy's bullies....
No matter...
The sun shines a little more brightly
The dark is a little enticing
It's all gonna turn out nicely
With just a taste of your heart
It's likely, we'll make it all much more frightening
Just mix it up, you'll keep finding
That life is sweeter when you are
Seeing things brightly
When you take things a little more lightly
Just mix it up, you'll keep finding
That life is sweeter when you are
Uliana takes a cupcake...
"Thank you," She says
"Uh, sure.. Anything for-"
"For all... Of them," Her tentacle snatches the plate and holds it high in the air, "They're supposed to be... Really rare right?"
"Hey!" Ella yells, "Give those back!"
"Oh... I don't speak peasant girl," She mocks, "I love your outfit... It's so... Put together."
You listen to a ripping noise...
The VKs begin to laugh at Ella's not ripped clothing...
"My name is Bridget, and I bribe people with treats to be my friend because I'm such a loner!" Uliana mocks you
"Hey!" A voice yells, echoing throughout the courtyard
All of you watch as the person climbs and then leaps from the balcony, going into a roll before effortlessly standing to her feet. You watch as she walks up to you. She swings her arm over your shoulder.
"I thought, we all agreed that the 'Loner' title, belongs to me," She says, smirking, "Even with a single friend... Doesn't count as being a loner. Now give those back... Or I'll rip those tentacles right off your back."
"Please, I only wanted the feathers," She says, "You! Can have the rest."
Her tentacle drops the plate... Ruining the remaining cupcakes you had...
"Now-Now hold your tentacle-"
"Hold on lass," Hook walks up to Ashlynn, "Why don't we take this after school?"
"We did," She says, "Want to relay to everyone what happened then?"
His smile drops and frantically looks around to wondering eyes. He backs off.
"That's what I thought..." She says
"W-wait!" You try to stop Uliana
She looks at you.
"That's... Too many!" You try to reason with her
She only chuckles and ingests every feather that was left.
"You're just jealous of my fabulosity," She says
"What fabulosity is there to be jealous of exactly?" Ashlynn asks her
A handful of classmates; both good and bad, 'ooh' at her comment. Uliana walks up to the both of you, Ashlynn brushing you behind her.
"Listen here, Loner, I don't know where your mouth runs, but-"
She backs into you as Uliana squawks....
All of you watch as Uliana turns into a Flamingo...
"Bridget... Did... Warn you..." Ashlynn points out, trying not to burst out laughing
But that doesn't satisfy her... She charges at the both of you.
"Come on Pinky Pie!" She grabs your hand
The both of you run...
"I'm sorry Uliana, I tried to warn you!" Bridget continues trying to reason with her
*Ashlynn's POV*
"Bridget just run!" You continue pulling her to run
You run into the courtyard her dorm building.
"Almost there!" You yell
However, Maleficent and Hook appear in the doorway. You lose your grip on Bridget's hand and she continues to run.
"Hello darling," Hook greets you, "I just want to have little chat with your little girlfriend."
You turn to see her cornered at the fountain...
"Bridget!" You yelp, pulling her into you, watching Uliana fall into a fountain, "I know a place we can go. Come on..."
You push the VK lackeys out of the way as you take Bridget to your perch.
+*+
"Did you really have to bring us up here?" Bridget asks, trying to adjust herself to feel comfortable
"Mmmm," You lowly growl, "Did you want me to take you somewhere where they'll find you easily?"
She doesn't answer...
"Didn't think so," You scoff, "I don't understand how you're being nice to them... They don't deserve your kindness..."
"Everyone is deserving of kindness," Bridget says, "No matter how mean, cruel, or evil they are.... They deserve to have kindness..."
"Sometimes I don't understand how you can harbor so much kindness," You scoff
"Ashlynn..." Bridget starts
"Ash... For short," You clarify
You watch as she reaches somewhere and pulls out one of her cupcakes.
"You never come around so... I saved one for you," She says
"Just for me?" You ask, slightly smiling
You take the cupcake and bite the feather. As soon as you ingested the feather, you felt lighter... Happier.
"Apparently I've been stuck in my nest too long," You chuckle, "Sorry I didn't come see you sooner. You just... You make me nervous."
"Me?" She asks, "Make you nervous?"
She gasps and your arm reaches out and wraps itself around her hip. As she steadies herself, her gaze travels up to yours.
"Why do you spend so much time alone?" She asks
"It's... Hard to figure out where I fit in more," You answer, "I steal... So that would make me a 'villain'. But, I do it for good reason.... So that would make me a 'hero'.... But, I hate trying to decide. I go to either or, and it's like I get so many..."
"Many negative looks?" She asks
"Yeah... Exactly," You say
"I got those when I arrived here on my first day," She explains, "That's why I bake... I bake so they could one day see me as a good person and want to be my friend."
The both of you finally settle into the space comfortably...
"Well, you have your baking," You slightly smile, "I only have my Archery skills."
"Which that makes you Captain of the Archery Team!" Bridget points out, "Who brought us to victory three years straight!"
"Means nothing to everyone apparently," You sigh
Your eyes travel out to the courtyard, then beyond...
"I come up here to be away from eyes that see me as both a villain or hero," You explain, "To be in my own little world... You know?.... Kind of like how baking is for you... Right?"
"Yeah," She says, "I'm sorry that you don't feel like you have a place here...."
"It's nothing that you can change," You sigh, "That's the reality of being an anti-hero..."
"For what it's worth... You don't seem like the anti-hero to me," She says
She puts her hand on your shoulder. She gives you a slight smile before retracting her hand. You finish the last bit of the cupcake.
"Oh... Ash... You got a little..." She tries to point out
"What?...." You try to find it
"Here, let me," She says
Her hand touches your cheek gently, and she uses her thumb to wipe off frosting from the corner of your lip.
"Thanks... Bridget," You clear your throat
"So... Why up here?" She asks, "I thought this would be exclusive to... You."
"It was the only place that came to mind in the moment," You say, "Well, it's not a spot solely for me now."
Bridget's eyes light up, "Are we going to have picnic dates here?"
You nod. She practically jumps into your arms as she gives you the biggest hug ever. As she straightens herself out, your eyes travel to her lips, then back to her eyes.
"Uhh... Come on," You clear your throat, "Ella might be missing you right now..."
