can you see the net through the sequins in the close-up. if yes, the base is soft net. if no, the base could be hard net or a lined net.

4. sequin shape variety

is the fabric all-round sequin, or is there variety. round plus star. round plus hexagon. round plus small mirror. the more variety, the more expensive and the more character.

5. thread colour at stitch points

look at where the sequin joins the base. if the thread matches the base cloth colour, you are looking at a well-finished fabric. if the thread is a different colour that shows through, the finish is machine-fast and cheap.

6. cutdana or bugle bead mix

is there any texture beyond flat sequins. small tube-shaped cutdana. long bugle beads. these add depth and price. a fabric with mixed embellishment costs more but photographs richer.
