Idk if you’ve watched New Girl (you should highly recommend) but Nick & Jess are exactly how I’d imagine Bubbles & Brick if they got together. I think it encapsulates them both as separate people and people in a relationship.

Highschool au where bubbles has her first interaction with brick when he helps her get the book she needs that's too high on the shelf for her, surprised she takes a look at her helper and her heart skipped a beat.
