Sitting at their usual spot in the library, Brick's red eyes were locked on Blossom and the new guy. His jaw clenched as he watched them laugh and talk, an unfamiliar feeling gnawing at him.

Blossom caught his gaze and offered a small, uncertain smile, but Brick looked away, pretending to be engrossed in his textbook. He could feel her eyes on him for a moment longer before she returned to her conversation.

Eventually, she did stop talking to Chase and walked over to Brick, her expression unreadable.

“You know, you’re really slow” Brick commented, as the girl began sitting down next to him.

Blossom eyes had narrowed turning to face him. “I was talking to someone.”

Brick’s grip on his pencil tightened. “Yeah, I know. You couldn’t talk to him like any other time”

Blossom frowned. “You really don’t like him, do you?”

Brick’s eyes flicked to hers, a hint of frustration in his gaze. “Like I give a fuck about your new boy toy?”

“Language,” The girl chided, “And boy toy? We’re friends. And if I didn’t know better. I’d say you were jealous.” , Her tone teasing but her eyes searching his face for a real answer.

Brick's eyes met hers, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "To be jealous, you’d have to be mine."

Blossom raised an eyebrow, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I’m glad you know."

Brick's smirk faded slightly, replaced by a more serious expression. "Do I have a reason to be?"

Blossom blinked, caught off guard by the intensity of his gaze. "Huh- no," she stammered, shaking her head. "There's nothing going on."

Brick's eyes softened, but he didn't look away. "If it was you, you wouldn’t have to be jealous either," he said quietly, his voice low and sincere.

Blossom's heart skipped a beat, and she felt a warmth spread through her chest. "Brick..." she began, but the words caught in her throat. She was getting tired of him and this game.

Brick leaned back, breaking the tension with a light chuckle. "Just saying, Pinky. Just saying."

Blossom smiled, a mixture of relief and something else she couldn't quite name. "You’re impossible, you know that?"

Brick grinned, his usual cocky demeanor returning. "Yeah, but you like me that way."

She rolled her eyes, but couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. "Maybe I do."
