If you want the best of both worlds, try this chicken and waffles breakfast sandwich. If you put melted cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, crispy fried chicken, and maple syrup between two golden waffles for breakfast, your taste buds will definitely be delighted.
Ingredients: 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 1 cup buttermilk. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon paprika. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion powder. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 waffles homemade or store-bought. 4 slices cheddar cheese. 4 strips crispy bacon. Maple syrup for drizzling. Optional: hot sauce for extra kick.
Instructions: Buttermilk should be used to marinate chicken breasts for at least an hour or overnight in the fridge. Put flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Coat the chicken breasts that have been marinated in the flour mixture all the way through. Over medium-low heat, cook chicken breasts for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Toast waffles until they are warm and crispy. Put a piece of cheddar cheese, a cooked chicken breast, a bacon strip, and a drizzle of maple syrup on top of each waffle to make a sandwich. Put another waffle on top to make a sandwich. You can add a few dashes of hot sauce if you want to make it taste better. Enjoy while still warm!
