(Reader is Butcher Ken’s wife and Mel and Breadhead’s Mama.)

• Being the wife of a mafia boss while being the mother of a human and a yeast golem is pure insanity, but when it comes to the love for your family, there’s nothing you cannot handle.

• You mostly spend your days tending to The Whale Belly Butchershop while Ken and Mud are on their missions with the kids, but it’s not unheard of for you to join them.

• Mel would always be the first person to bounce into your arms after a successful killing mission, rambling about how awesome the trip was and how she helped the gang. She would always love hearing your words of praise after putting up with Ken’s endless bickering for her safety.

“…and then I used the chainsaw! Pretty cool, huh, mom?”

“Oh-ho-ho! I wish I was there to see it, sweetie!”

• You would always quickly tend to Mel whenever she was injured after a mission.

• Like Ken, you were severely worried about your daughter’s safety, considering how you and your husband are the only people who know she’s a human. Though, unlike him, you’re not as overprotective.

• And Mel absolutely loves you for that. She would often use you as leverage for winning arguments with her dad when it comes to her safety.

“Mel, I always told you not to-!”

“Oh, c’mon, Ken! You never let me go outside on my own! Mom always lets me!”

“DON’T BRING YOUR MOTHER INTO THIS!”

• Breadhead is a total mama’s boy and will always look forward to at least spending time with you every single day. The silly bread man just loves your guts. You’ve been nothing but sweet to him since he was a bun in the oven and he’s always willing to return the love.

• Anything his mama says, he’ll do it. Do chores at work, he’ll do it. Bring a souvenir from one of the missions, he’ll do it. Cement the man that insulted your cooking, he’ll do it.

• Just like how Mel wants Ken to be proud of her, Breadhead can’t get enough of you being proud of him.

• There was a time when you joined the Smiling Dead on a mission and Breadhead was bubbling with excitement. He was twice as excited to fight with his mama and often turned to you for praise after brutally mutilating a random Rotling.

“Mama, did you see that? Did you see what I did?”

“Of course, honey bun. Mama’s so proud!”

“Heh heh! Mama’s proud of me!”

• Even though you don’t join missions, you’re just as insane and demented as the rest of the crew. Though you do a better job at hiding it than the others. Ken and Mud find you fun to be around because of this.

• Your kids would be busy ripping apart their latest victim and you would be just watching them, unfazed with a calm yet proud smile, completely splattered in the victims purple blood.

• Ken would always plan date nights with you whenever your schedule was open. Slow dancing in the closed butcher shop with soft music in the background was always his go-to for a romantic night.

• You and Ken were the undead Bonnie and Clyde of the town, but better. You, Ken, and Mud were the only members of the Smiling Gang before Mel and Breadhead were born.

• Mud would often reminisce those days. He would always bring up how he missed those good old times when it was just you three and how much more exciting and crazier the missions were back in the day.

“Ah, Mel. You should’ve seen (Y/N) back then when she was in the crew! She was one crazy bitch!”

“Watch it, Mud! But yes, I quite was…”

• Mud often tends to steal your things just to rile you up. He knows that pissing you off is like playing with fire, but hey, what’s more fun than bickering with his sister-in-law?

• Being the wife of a mafia don always has its perks. Ken never stops spoiling you after making a good amount of scarab from work. Dresses, jewelry, custom-made knives, he always knew what you wanted.

• He happily remembered how you squealed with joy and covered his face with kisses after he gave you a torture rack as a gift on your 4th anniversary together.

• And just like Ken, you know how to spoil him too. Cooking his favorite meals, gifting him a new car and weapons, giving him a divine massage after a long and hard day of work, and always being there for him when he needs a hand.

• Ken feels like the luckiest man on earth whenever you have his back. He always tends to solve his own problems when it comes to crooks that try to mess with his family, but when his wife does it for him? He has hearts in his eyes for you.

• There was a time when a random creepy guy tried to grope Mel in the butcher shop. Before Ken could skin the fool, the creep was already bleeding on the ground, shrieking for mercy from you. But his pleas fell upon deaf ears.

• The other residents of the shop nearly pissed icicles from the smiling death stare you gave to the creep while slowly torturing him. Your calm threats to him didn’t make it better either. While Mel watched you slowly eviscerate the creep in excitement, Ken swooned at the sight of his beautiful wife defending their daughter.

“PLEASE! I’M SORRY! I WON’T DO IT AGAIN!”

“…If you ever try to touch my baby girl that way again…I’ll tear out your spine through your dickhole and mulch your shit body into steaming mush…repeatedly and SLOWLY…”

• And yeah. That turns Ken on.

“Uh, dad? Why are you looking at mom like that?”

“Oh, Mel…your mother sure knows how to disturb the peace…in my pants…”

Of course! Honestly surprised I haven't written that before.

Breadhead dating headcanons

★ When your together, half the time is spent holding hands. It just feels natural. Breadhead doesn’t even realize he’s doing it. So you try not to mention it. Because if you did, he might get self-conscious and stop for a while.

★ He'll pull out chairs for you, open car doors and bring you flowers in an effort to be a gentleman. But don't be surprised if the flowers were picked from someone’s garden.

★ Breadhead is either the best or worst influence on you, depending on the day. On some days, he asks for your help with things that Ken definitely wouldn't approve of. Other times, he somehow ends up being the voice of reason.

★ If you ever get into a fight, he apologizes to you without knowing what he did wrong. Just wanting you to be happy instead of mad. If he meses up, and he knows he messed up, then Breadhead would feel horrible. Apologizing over and over until he feels you trust him again.

BREADHEAD

First of all I like to think that he has many nicknames for you like - Pretty Bird, Ma'm, Little Bird, Angel, Honey or Sweetie and other cute nicknames

This man is tall, like hella tall, taller than his own dad! Like he can easily carry you whenever he wants attention

He teaches you how to play piano if you wanna learn how to play it but it does take you some time but in the end you become a really good pianoist all because of him

Breadhead would most likely be a sweetie to you but if someone or a rotling goes near you, he's creepily stare them down

Like standing tall behind you, as he stares down at them making them scared and run away making you confused until you look up to see Breadhead smiling down at you all lovely

Some people may know that he has a tattoo with the word dad and a heart on his bicep, I would also like to think that Breadhead would get a tattoo of your name or maybe a wording that you always say if you say a word a lot one too many times

He LOVES to see you in his jacket, if you are short or tall either way it's going to be big on you like really big on you

His jacket would mostly smell like fresh bread and beer in my opinion

And come to think about beer, we all saw how many bottle was placed into his bread-head

So when he is drunk, he would be either clingy or very childish around you which is quite cute and funny at the same time

Breadhead loves you and you need to earn his family's trust, mostly ken's of course, he can get a bit worried for his son

Whenever you are asleep after a long day of working at the butcher shop, he would love for you to cuddle up to him as he just lays near you on guard like a dog protecting his owner

If someone even dares to wake you up, he would glare at them until they know what he is saying and leave

SMILING DEAD X READER | SLOW HEALER

Reader is a slow healer because something went wrong. What curse could’ve possibly fucked up their regeneration this bad? They’ll always come back to life anyway—but the pain? The pain is the most annoying part. In the Gaslight District, no one usually patches up their injuries. It heals up pretty quick, and there’s not really a point. But since your healing is so slow, it could really drain you.

If you’re a risk taker, you’re gonna get hurt often.

I seriously love Gianni Matragrano and all the characters he voices and when I saw he’d be voicing Breadhead, I fell in love immediately. This took me a bit of researching so I apologize for any mischaracterizations! (￣∇￣;).

The fact you pulled Breadhead of all people is… crazy. He is so oblivious to any flirting, you’d eventually have to tell him straight up, or the others might step in. Breadhead isn’t the smartest when it comes to social cues and verbal hints.

As requested, with minor narrative changes. Here I rely on one of the theories that humans are born randomly, not exclusively once every 10,000 years. It's just that such humans either do not pose a danger, or they are used for scientific purposes. Mel exists, as well as reader, who is also a human.

— such creatures as him aren't mere puppets. the more they live, the more conscious they are. the more of a person they become. and he… seems to have exactly the one your soul craves now.

— you barely even realize how you managed to become Ken's employee. what the eyes fear, the hands do…

— you feel like you're not yourself. it's like your body is dictating its own rules, and your mind has receded into the background.

— you often find yourself closer to him than you better be. it's so easy to identify you by the warmth of your body. by the sound of your accelerated heartbeat. even by too alive behaviour. you hope that the burning cheeks are not visible under the layers of disguise...

— you cannot but cling to him when he's playing the piano, hoping he's the most distracted at such moments to notice your origin.

— as you found out by eavesdropping on conversations, he doesn't know about Mel's belonging. moreover, he seems to target humans. it made your heart drop.

— you don't even know how it happened, but you ended up being closer than friends but further than lovers.

— you even became a little too reckless, clinging to him whenever there's a possibility. he even comments on your warmth, referring to you as ember/emby. it made you think he supposes you're a rotling, yet somehow with a high body temperature.

— the other crew of the smiling dead doesn't seem to be bothered about you too much. Mel's happy for her brother, Mud's throwing jokes in the style of "keeping each other's buns safe", and Ken… he's just keeping an eye on you.

— but one day the idyll ended. when you were reckless enough to join one of their deals. it was an honor for you that they invited you, and it was just impossible to refuse.

— the bullet went tangentially, slicing your flesh, drawing blood. the first one who noticed was him, and you were ready to get crushed.

— you noticed how realization flashed in his eyes, which for a moment lit up with bloodlust. you remain frozen like a deer in the headlights, afraid to even move, waiting for the verdict.

— despite expectations, he grabbed you with the tenderest care and hid you in a secluded place, and then turned the culprits into an unidentifiable mess. with such brutal cruelty that the others stared at him in a frenzy for a moment.

— whew, no yeast can do this to him like this one can!

— while others were distracted, you managed to take care of yourself, at least hiding the stains and wound itself. you always carry things for such occasions, such as disinfectants and bandages.

— from that moment on, everything changed significantly. he didn't tell anyone about your origin but never discussed it with you either. now he just doesn't let you out of his sight, ready to strike whoever would try to hurt you.

— since then, it's both easier and harder for you to accept your own mortality. the care he gives you makes you feel safe, even as a human being. however, you hate the idea that one day you will have to say goodbye due to your finiteness. you'll keep searching for the solution, but now with a beloved guardian by your side...
