i firmly believe that is one of the greatest f1 fairytales to ever happen (don't even get me started on other motorsport), and i know jenson was just in the right place at the right time for some of it but still, i'd give him some credit for pulling it off anyways (rubens had the same machinery so he could have won but he didn't, etc). jenson kept showing up so strong through the years and as i was saying in your other ask, he treats motorsport like an art form and i really love that.

additionally he's just a silly guy to be honest. even i love his commentary, and i still enjoy rewatching his best races. 2011 canadian grand prix my baby... if you never watched that race, DO IT. also i'm a bit ashamed to admit that his media presence did it for me as well? just the subtle microexpressions in press conferences, the random jokes he makes, the things he does particularly endear him to me, and i love daniel ricciardo for the same reason.

and uh one more thing hehe uh... have you seen that interview he had with sky sports (i think it was them) a while back? where he talks about having "a man crush on his ex teammate (fernando"? yeah that. as a queer woman watching f1 there's been a lot of misogyny and heteronormativity over the years that just deeply hurts to see. it's so frustrating to remember that my favourite thing ever has been riddled with such issues that have always been acceptable. grid girls being abolished (in f1) was a step in the right direction but they did so much damage to the perception of women in motorsport in the first place. similarly, drivers/teams have always made jokes about being gay through the years, and there have been 3 queer drivers to my knowledge (mike beuttler, ralf schumacher, lella lombardi). motorsport fans and participants around the world have had to stay closeted because of the countries f1 travels to and the stigma carried with being queer, and that's simply unacceptable. even jenson's little comment about a man crush, we take him as a queer protector at least. part of me genuinely believes he meant it like that, and i know he's not gay but even a bi king works for us. it's not that i want to ship him with other drivers, it's that i want to see queer pride and representation in the sport that isn't used as the main selling point of a driver's career. there's also the fact that as a queer person i can generally find other queer people pretty well, and i do get the vibes from jenson sometimes in ways i can't explain, and don't get from other drivers (except dc and lando). anyways all that said, it's not that i support him because i think he's queer, it's about what he's done for the queer community of f1 fans, and the fact that he could realistically be queer adds a sense of hope to the idea that one day, queer drivers will be common and well accepted in motorsport.
