#isolationcreation a summary of a #textileart piece I finished last night after many hours of #handstitching since we started lockdown. As the theme of my #summershow work is #bekindtoyourmind and #mendandrepair I developed a #screenprint into an #embroideryart piece using upcycled fruit net bags and threads rescued from a house clearance. I then took an old damaged picture frame and used #recycled vegetable net bags to cover the frame and form a surface to embroider #neuralnetworks inspired by my reading the 'Oxford companion to the mind' as research into how our brain is structured. Continuing my theme of how emotions affect our minds I stitched in four key emotions to emulate how thoughts and feelings can become "hardwired' if we repeatedly experience them, as the phrase goes- "nerves that fire together wire together'. I chose the colours for each word to reflect how the emotions feel, I e sad: blue, happy: yellow, fear: black and angry: red..
