Please don't recommend Google Drive to people! 😭 It has so much AI shit going on scrapping everything you put into it and everyone was talking about the new TOS just a few months ago which essentially gave Google ownership to everything you put into Google Drive. 😭 Begging ye' to please be careful. Better to just back up on a external harddrive stick. You don't need a big one, and they're cheap nowadays! And most importantly you will still own your own writings/pictures this way! You might POSSIBLY need an adapter between your phone and the usb stick if you write on your phone rather than borrow a PC/laptop? But even that isn't too expensive nowadays. - - - (And opinions on AI aside, Google has a lot of shady stuff going on with a certain g*nocid*al manic of a country in the south-east which I know since earlier you do NOT support. Google is too big to avoid all the time, but when you have the choice I highly recommend you do so). ❤️

YES Google is on the boycott list since day 1. And Microsoft, too. I know these 2 aren't easy to avoid using because of how big of a monopoly they are (especially here, actually) but I don't use ANY of their paid services. Like not even the expanded version of Drive. Just those free 15GB that come with your gmail.
And regarding this bombshell about the AI...I don't even know why I'm surprised anymore 🤢 I did not know Google claims ownership over your files. I almost never read TOS tho so it's on me for stupidly thinking the leaders of any large corporation (especially now) know what basic morality is.
External HDDs/USBs are useful and I do use them but I know they're not always accessible to everyone/everywhere. And when I'm mid-edit in a writing project, having it on the cloud is literally what saves the work from being abandoned/scrapped due to lack of time. So if there's any good cloud service out there instead of Drive I'd love to know about it.

I have been made increasingly aware of the fact that westerners, and I'm mostly referring to USAmericans, just do not have the sauce to do *anything* meaningful against fascism. Their hyperindividualism has driven them to express their politics through primarily the lens of what they consume.
I have been seeing this a lot in the pro-Palestine movement and I'm seeing this in response to businesses kowtowing to Trump. It's ever-expanding boycott lists and frivolous outrage when allies don't hold themselves to these ridiculous moral standards.
I need everyone to understand that it's just not how you do activism - it's unorganized, requires no long-term commitment or community building and ultimately leads you to reinforce the systems that got us in this mess to begin with.
