Daymn, there’s one thing here that pops out at me: look at that street. It’s like the body of your lover; sleek, well built, clean. This grey stone road will lead you to the longest bar in the world. Go ahead, ask somebody, “Excuse me, where is the longest bar in the world?” They’ll laugh at you, though, and explain that actually Düsseldorf Altstadt itself is “the longest bar in the world” because there are are so many bars and pubs that are directly next door to each other. It’s not called the longest bar because one of them has actually the longest long bar.

When I first arrived in Ddorf, it was Sunday morning on Karneval weekend. The city was dead. Nowhere in my mind did I assume that this place actually had a night life. Slowly, toward 10:00am people started to emerge. But still, I had no clue that this old city has the “longest bar”. I didn’t discover Ddorf’s longest bar until just a few weeks ago. It’s the perfect place to spend 75€ on what you could buy for 20€ at the store, as well as a pretty good place to run into the few people that you’ve met while being here. There are pros and cons to the longest bar in the world.
