hmamammgmhmhmrkfifjnr the think machine is a bit low on ideas, i won't lie BUTTTTTT i have been thinking of a TFP version of BoxJelly.

except like, their powers are a lot more toned down in the TFP verse. TFP is a lot more tonally serious than the other continuties i feel.

in TFP, its Shockwave. they're Shockwave's peitry dish hellspawn. Shockwave was trying to create a long lasting battery but then one thing lead to another and now he has a minion 💔

they're his minicon now, fuck it. Soundwave has Lazerbeak so now Shockwave has BoxJelly. TFP Megs isn't sure what to feel about it... thing about TFA Megs is that the guys desperate for more troops. he's stuck with four idiots and out of that, one defected and the other became immortal and is trying to kill him on a daily basis. however, TFP has an army of Vehicons and is doing better compared to the Autobots initially (until they fragged it all over w their own dysfunctionality). TFP Megs does strike me to be more picky in a way so they're more critical of BoxJelly than TFA Megatron would be.

also after a lot more thought, i realized i could give them a Jellyfish + Drone alt mode combo instead cause they're a bit too small to be a full blown helicopter? maybe a drone design with some helicopter aspects? idk.

Earthspark, they're a Terran. its literally right there. Terran Decepticon.

[for G1] alsooooo i do feel like i can see them being one of Soundwave's cassettes but i'm debating between that & Blitzwing's protegé because G1 Blitzwing having to take care of someone is gonna end up with a couple of domestic terrorist attacks, i feel. there's comedic potential.

I have a few other headcanons (this is all for transformers in general, like, no continuity)

Rumble and frenzy learned that trying to play with jellyfish is a bad idea.

Soundwave, in one of his many visits to the sea, got jellyfish a tank full of jellyfish. Thanks to that, YN jellyfish is a lot easier to find, before they spend 90 percent of their time in their habsuit just staring at the tank.

(in G1) the decepticons took 70 months to realize they could just use jellyfish as a power source for energon.

After capturing jellyfish, the autobots now have to try and keep Sari from going to the little robot.

Jellyfish once stepped close enough to the motherboard of the nemesis that their shock traveled through the metal and fried the systems, ever since, they wear cheap plastic human child boots and a blue plastic raincoat.

During one of his short visits on earth, sentinel prime got shocked by YN jellyfish, he now believes every jellyfish can do that.

Shockwave ended up researching every single bit of information about jellyfish, and is now interested in that rare box jellyfish subspecies that has only been captured on camera 2 times.

Yn jellyfish somehow got dose glow in the dark stars and filled bits of the nemesis with them, to this day, they are still being found.

Yn jellyfish sometimes struggles walking themselves after letting out powerful electric shocks, so they wobble.

Blitzwing now holds YN jellyfish out like if they were the cross when discussing anything with someone.

Hothead blitzwing gives military style motivation chats to jellyfish.

Yn jellyfish sometimes follows people ducky style.

Blurr thought he could grab YN jellyfish and run with them fast enough to get to a safe place and incarcerate them before being shocked...he THOUGHT....he failed...

One time, when a customer didn't want to pay full price for an item, swindle brought out yn jellyfish, attached them to a rubbed robe and swinged them at the bot until they payed.

Megatron was forced to place a sticker on YN jellyfish signifying that they were electric in order to avoid the veihicons touching them and getting shocked.

Ever since YN jellyfish appeared, ratchet hates his job a little bit more.

idk about the autistic child bit (everyone cam have their own interpretations dw abt that!) but i can definitely see the non-verbal part. they don't need words to convey their emotions, their aura is enough. literally cause i think they would have a really strong EM field, or maybe a strong but distorted one with how their electrical abilities work... maybe they convey their emotions through their EM field?

they're too overpowered so i needed to dumb down their strategic thinking & overall intelligence or else it gonna be a problem for everyone.

i'm gonna add some of my own stuff.

it would go something like this;

weaponsmith encounters them and they're visibly freaked out, they can see their insides! semi-concerned but also curious. why are they so small? where is their warframe? what are they doing out here? then they notice the Decepticon sticker

weaponsmith!reader: "...they'll hire anybody..."

boxjelly!reader: *frog blinks*

the weaponsmith remains hesitant, unsure on how to approach. they would 100% underestimate boxjelly. are they ever Cybertronian? doesn't seem like it. they knew the Decepticons have been desperate lately but-

OHHHH Rocket is Blitzwing- ROCKET IS BLITZWING.

also brilliant comparison, i never realized how similiar their dynamics are. also eventually how Blitz would kinda think they're alright because he's been around them so long. they're like his parrot, perched on his shoulder as if he were a pirate— not leaving his side cause Megatron told them to stay together, only so that it would be easier to keep optics on the both of them... not because Blitzwing is a sane enough bot to make sure they don't end up in trouble.

i can also imagine their dynamic evolving a lot more into baby groot & rocket eventually cause Blitzwing realizes that they're actually brainless... they literally don't have a brain module and its not even their fault they are that way. but they're super OP regardless. also he comes to understand BoxJelly's beeps & boops, what each sound means. so he ends up being the only person who can understand them 😆

he's trying to teach you how to shoot with a blaster, he tried to get the smallest possible variety but even that's too big for you. you try shooting and accidentally blow up Lugnut into smithereens.

Starscream does NOT like them. Blitzwing doesn't even have to intervene when Starscream is trying to use you for his schemes cause Starscream doesn't realize you literally cannot understand complex plans + the camera on your helm Shockwave installed before his spy mission. you're Megatron's surveillance drone and you don't even know it.

even though Blackarachnia made them, she's more of a neglectful parent to them more than anything— she thinks of them as a failed experiment but amusing as well as useful enough to keep around.

Lugnut tolerates you only cause Megatron said you'd be useful... otherwise he's suspicious about you... are you truly loyal to the Cause? you're not exactly the traditional Decepticon... you don't even have a warframe!
