"How could you not tell me?"
Tina winces in response to his words. At the current moment she was steadying herself by leaning up against the side of the shed. A sudden dizzy spell was what led to this admission– It wasn’t as if she was trying to hide it. Not really. At least, that’s what she likened to tell herself.
It had started nearly two weeks prior when they were out in the deserts of Egypt while he looked from some Phoenix nests. She had thought it was simply the drastic change of climate and temperature. So she ignored it and kept to their work. It would pass, it had to, and she was almost certain it had by the third day.
That was only a brief intermission, though, two days of relief before it hit harder while they were on a boat back to England. Maybe it was seasickness, then, she considered and kept it to herself. Always saying she was going to use the bathroom when she instead upchucked over the railing. It would pass, it had to.
But it wasn’t until that evening when they were feeding the creatures he noticed. She was going slower that evening, with a dizziness that made the world spin and her feet wobble. It’s of course Dougall who’s found her first, ever the babysitter, but Newt wasn’t long after.
“I’m fine,” Tina mumbled, ever stubborn as she tried to give a slight shake of her head. Even that motion served to be painful and she slid down the length of the shed to take a shaky breath, “I didn’t– I figured it was just something to do with Egypt.” The words held a shakiness to them that was unfamiliar even to herself but she tried to ignore it. She was fine, she’d be fine– It would pass.
