Wiiilddd time today @brooklynmuseum's stellar "David Bowie Is" exhibition. What a wild, strange and unique--& funky!--talent Bowie was. We weren't allowed to take pics inside the exhibition, but there were so many gems--artifacts, clothing, records, rare film clips and videos that it makes you want to go back immediately to properly soak it in. Artists like Bowie, Prince, Michael, James Brown--were just on another level. You just have to be grateful that you were here to witness/hear some of the brilliance. Listen, this thing's about to close in a week, so if you're remotely interested in the allure and badassery of Bowie run--don't walk(!!) Really glad, too, to take it all in w/ my daughter. As the years go by, she's going to get how deeply talented this guy was. It'll be interesting to see how it spurs her own creativity and self-expression. Afterwards, we checked out the rest of the exhibits in the museum from radical Latin feminists to the amazing Ancient Egypt collection (never gets boring). All in Brooklyn.
