This bird turns our trash into treasure as long as it's a blue colour. The male builds a bower - full of sticks and leaves - and decorates it with any blue items he's found. He creates an artistic bower that doubles as a stage to woo a female. It's one of the most elaborate decorated structures designed in the animal kingdom.

Not saying I’m opposed to it but why does the example photo of a bowerbird bower on wikipedia literally look like the poster for an A24 horror film?

Bower birds and Bower at Croydon.
The male collects bits and pieces. This one concentrates on silver and a bit of red. I've seen other bowers where the dominant colour is blue or yellow. In the second photo, you can see the silver alfoil, aluminium screws and a couple of pieces of red. The males build a Bower and decorate it, hoping to attract a female. If she visits and his courting display and dance is agreeable, they'll mate. She then builds a nest and rears the chicks alone.
