I always just considered eel ones based on what we see Simon begin to turn into, but I see the idea behind the tree mutations.

Especially considering, according to the iron lung fandom wiki, that Simon basically merges with the tree.

Makes me kinda want to redo the mutations in my fics but god I don't wanna but the itch is there...
