Planning my towns Walk for Srebrenica event and the guy who’s supposed to be in charge of making sure we have a permit for the location just texted me “lol. we might have to risk it.”
🤔 Hmmm let’s not … pls 🙏
BOSNO MOJA 🇧🇦
Bosno moja mila,
Da si vila, iz gore bi bila,
Jer sva tvoja ljepota
U planinama se sakrila.
Zemljo moja draga,
Puna si skrivenog blaga:
Hladnih rijeka, bistrih jezera,
Zelenih šuma i ljudi oštra uma.
Gledam te hrabru, stamenitu, jaku,
Jer te vole takvu,
Kako sred Balkana stojiš ponosito,
Slušajući odjek pjesme što pjeva silovito,
Bosno moja, dok huče rijeke
I vijore zelena polja,
Moja duša je tvoja
Puna meraka, sjete i dragosti
Jer sam bosansko dijete,
Čuješ li nas ove noći, svijete?
Vilo, siđi noćas sa planina,
Da osjetiš miris ljiljana
Što se zrakom vijore
Tako lako, obojani ponosom djece tvoje.

BOSNA YOU ARE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE <33333333
whatever happens with this bosnian team in the wc - whether they qualify to the next round or not - nobody can take away what they’ve already done.
bosnia is a country that lived through war, genocide, corruption, and decades of political dysfunction. many of its people are still carrying wounds that haven’t fully healed.
and then there’s this team. from edin dzeko, who was just a child in besieged sarajevo and grew up to become the greatest footballer our country has ever produced, to esmir bajraktarevic, born and raised in the united states, whose family comes from srebrenica. a place forever marked by the worst genocide in europe since wwii. and they are only two of many. so many of these players were born and raised outside bosnia. they could have chosen other countries. instead, they chose this one.
because to us bosnia is more than a place on a map. it’s a history, a memory, a community that stretches across continents. you can try to erase us. you can try to divide us. and yet, here we are. still here.
