Zuko has learned that when his girlfriend/wife says she wants to cuddle what she really means is she wants him to squeeze the anxieties out of her.

"His Imperial Highness, the Crown Prince Phillip!"
He did say he'd have a word with the King in the morning. Just barely beyond the crack of dawn, though, may be a bit much. But Phillip was always a morning person, and this burning matter could not wait for the lazier hours of the day.
"Stefan!" He starts, briefly thanking the chamberlain who had announced him before taking long, purposeful strides towards the raven-haired King as he breakfasts. Roasted figs dripping in honey, manchet bread with a variety of sweet butters and clotted creams.
What a shame he would be having none of it.
Just as his painfully soon-to-be father-in-law begins his first bite of bread and cheese, Phillip pinches it away from his hand and tosses it over his shoulder.
"You held the Princess away for nearly twenty years. Did you not tell her, your own daughter, as to why that might be?"
He glowers at the King, looking down at him.
Both physically and metaphorically.
"The truth, Stefan. Nothing else will do."

Zuko was not one to ignore a call for help, not even from a stranger. He moved through the underbrush like a shadow, every step measured, every sense alert. The smoke curling above the treetops told him enough —someone was in trouble, and the royal scouts had confirmed the presence of bandits in the area.
He emerged at the edge of a clearing and saw her.
A young woman, cornered by four men with crude weapons and cruel laughter. Her golden hair was tangled, and her cloak torn, but she stood her ground with unexpected grace. Even in distress, she held her head high, back straight, chin lifted with stubborn dignity.
Zuko’s eyes narrowed, and the moment one of the bandits lunged for her, Zuko acted.
A stream of fire exploded across the clearing, searing the ground in a bright arc. The attackers staggered back, startled by the sudden blaze. All eyes turned to him.
He stepped forward, fire licking at his fists.
“Leave her,” Zuko growled, voice sharp as steel.
“Who the hell are you?” one of the bandits shouted, raising a blade.
Zuko didn’t answer. He moved.
The clearing lit up in flashes of gold and red as he struck. Fire swept through the space with precision, not chaos. One bandit was knocked unconscious with a spinning kick. Another dropped his sword and fled. The last two barely had time to scream before they were flattened by twin blasts of heat.
When it was over, smoke curled from the scorched earth, and only Zuko remained standing.
He turned to the woman, her back pressed against a tree, breath shallow, hands clenched at her sides. Wide blue eyes locked with his. “You’re safe now,” he said, tone even but quiet. “They won’t hurt you.”
"Aurora, you're distracting even to me."

It had dawned on him that he's bleeding beneath the layers of cloak and clothes, while the air is moist, cold and wet, he can distinctly feel the warmth of flood seeping at his side. It is not his concern at the moment, much more concerned with the golden beauty on his back. His charge, taken, bruised and stolen away from her carriage before reaching her new home. The Prince hadn't even considered coming for her, and while Lucien would never speak ill of the man. . .well, Tamlin wasn't exactly a 'Knight in shining armor'. Coward, is the name he'd use. Lucien wondered if she was sleeping, it had been at least an hour since she'd made a sound. They were at least another two or three days away from the Kingdom, at with his own wound needing tending...Lucien was grateful to be just another hour or so away from the inn he knew in this area. It was going to be a long journey back, but the promised princess was by all means...safe.
By the time they'd reached the inn, the sky had darkened to nearly pitch black with the pouring rain. It was likely around 4 in the afternoon but easily could of been mistaken for much later. The flickering lamp post was a godsend in his bleary eyes, he'd sooner pass out from blood loss if not for his—unusual parentage. "Princess, keep the hood over you. Let no one spy your hair or eyes" He prayed to every God he could name that no one would realize who he carried on his back. The innkeeper was an older women, reddened cheeks with dark curled hair. Lucien flashed a charming smile, inquiring for a small room, a first aid kit for his 'wife' and dinner for two. The only problem was, upon unlocking the room and finding that while he'd been dreaming of sleep— it would be the floor. Despite his extra coin, it seemed only one bed remained and, as a knight of his word...the bed would be Aurora's. "is your ankle feeling better?" Lucien grunted softly as he lowered her down to the overly small two seat couch, braced against the floor as her weight shifted off. The spots in his vision did not ease, but Lucien did not utter a word about the injury. "You should get out of the wet clothes, my Lady. There is a" He turned with some difficulty, his own hood falling to reveal soaked red hair. "Adjoining bath, and I can see if they have a spare sleeping dress"
