Character Development

MC is a genuinely happy person at first, they have a close-knit group of friends that are able to know what is going on inside MC’s head. Development contains many different situations where MC is loved deeply by others outside their family but then that love fades out almost instantly once the relationship starts or over long periods of time and MC develops a cynical view of love. Then MC is loved by a toxic person who is very vocal about dumping them. This dumping starts the villain arc. MC soon after finds a genuinely loving person who matches their energy (Love Interest)

Villain arc

MC continues being happy despite the many failed relationships in their past. Everyone knows them as a constantly smiling, charming person. Major event happens that sparks a complete flip in MC’s personality. MC’s friend group+Love Interest tries to help them through the emotional roller coaster that is the grieving process. MC meets a person (Bad Influence) who knows how to teach MC a way that will make it seem to everyone else that they are still the same person they were before, but they will be more powerful. This bad influence slowly teaches MC the ways of dark/blood magic and how to control it to benefit themselves and others. MC soon masters dark/blood magic and no longer needs Bad Influence, but they still keep Bad Influence around for companionship. MC maintains the image of a happy smiling person throughout learning and mastering dark/blood magic.

Post-Villain Arc

MC and Bad Influence enter the underworld of dark/blood magic together and quickly take it over. MC maintains connections with friend group and Love Interest, but they show up at gatherings and dates less and less often; making up shitty excuses about why they aren’t able to be there. But then, MC runs into toxic ex while going about their regular life with Bad Influence, argument quickly ensues and MC casually demonstrates their use of dark/blood magic at a low level to frighten their toxic ex. Ex shows off their knowledge of dark/blood magic at a higher level than MC’s previous use and says “oh, you finally learned the basics, good for you sweetie”. MC then puts Ex into a death grip using magic and says “I will turn everything you love into ash and then make you watch as I blow it all away”. Bad Influence finally realizes how deep MC has gone into the magic and eyes go wide.

Redemption arc

After the encounter with Toxic Ex, Bad Influence tells MC’s friend group and Love Interest about the dark/black magic underworld that has been going on for X amount of time. Friend Group reveals they been knew. Bad Influence, Friend Group, and Love Interest confronts MC about dark/blood magic use. MC grapples with how much they have changed since Toxic Ex had broken up with them. Friend Group helps MC let go of dark/blood magic behind Bad Influence’s back and MC starts to go back to who they were before the break up. Love Interest notices this and starts to encourage it.

Happily ever after

After MC drops dark/blood magic almost entirely, they are walking through the underworld with Bad Influence as they tell Bad Influence that they are done with dark/blood magic and they are ready to leave the influence they have in the underworld entirely to Bad Influence. Bad Influence starts to freak out and convince MC to stay in the underworld with them maybe threatening Love Interest in the process. MC refuses and leaves Bad Influence behind. MC lives a happy rest of their life with Love Interest and Friend Group until they run into an old friend from the underworld while doing a mundane task like shopping or something.
