Borderlands 4 - This Land: this may be a newer entry to the franchise, but I absolutely adore this intro. It subverts your expectations within the first minute and when the Vault Hunters arrive, the fun begins! They don’t only show off each character’s abilities, they also show off their personalities loud and clear! Notable moments include Rafa’s victory dance out of a burning barn, Amon’s smile as he takes down Rippers with his forge drone axes, Harlowe’s wink and celebration after a successful use of her gadgets, and Vex’s name card being scribbled out from The Siren to A F&%ing Witch!!! Once again, the name cards have their own little font designs that match the characters and the song is such a banger and it gets you hyped up to break free and cause some mayhem on Kairos, so props to Des Rocs for making such a good song! The action doesn’t just stop at the title card though, it continues with the Timekeeper’s forces closing in on them and they get arrested, leading straight into the character select screen with them in a cell. In short, this intro introduces a new world, new enemies and new Vault Hunters in just 3 minutes, and I loved every single second of it!

2. Borderlands 2 - Short Change Hero: the iconic intro, synonymous with the franchise itself. Each Vault Hunter and their abilities have their own chance to shine, the song perfectly describes Pandora to a T and who doesn’t love a train fight, timed to perfection with the music? I love how each VH’s name card has its own unique design and font, and the ending with Handsome Jack taunting the VHs and blowing up the train is just so iconic…

3. Borderlands 3 - Put It on The Line: even with all the discourse and hate online, I think this intro is pretty fun, the song is great (The Heavy never disappoints), and it’s very action packed, showing off each Vault Hunter’s abilities in action! Why it’s not ranked higher is that there’s a lot going on and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with what each Vault Hunter is doing. Otherwise it’s awesome!

4. Borderlands Pre Sequel - Black Dragon: this is a very action packed intro, and the song is a banger. I mean, fighting off bandits in zero gravity is always epic, but I would’ve ranked it higher if it wasn’t for Claptrap’s segment interrupting the song and the sudden tone change with Athena’s narration (No offence to her entirely).

5. Borderlands 1 - Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked: I absolutely love the song but the visuals are kinda lacking. Sure it’s the first game and this is just introducing the world and the characters for the first time, but I like a little more action with my intros. This is just an intro to vibe to, and I’m honestly not complaining.
