#Repost @catchingflightswithjay The prettiest brewery I’ve ever seen— Helia Brewing Co in Vista, CA. This was another one I chose to visit on a whim and I’m happy to report it was well worth it. I loved how every wall was a visual work of art (literally— they have local art displayed on some walls). This whole venue is a visual dream, but that’s not the only thing appealing about this space. They’ve got pretty solid beers and since it was a warm night, I opted for some IPA’s to cool me down. Cooling down from the Vegas heat with the help of this light and refreshing Strawberry Biscuit Ale from a special collab with Southern Grist Brewing Co x Hardees! I was excited for this because visiting @southerngristbrewing in Nashville last February was one of my favorite things we did. I fell in love with a lot of their canned beers prior to visiting and made it a mission to make this on our To-Do list. Loved this collab and it really did remind me of biscuits and strawberry jam— you get hints of strawberry on your first sip and then a subtle buttermilk finish. Thank you again @southerngristbrewing and @hardees for my care package. I will def make use of this mini cooler. 😎 (also, isn’t this glassware the cutest?!) #Repost @catchingflightswithjay Reunited with my beer bestie for the first time after my fitness challenge and finally got to visit Deadwood Meadery located in the Henderson Booze District. Newly opened last month, this small local brewery is packed with a variety of unique meads. If you’re looking to sample them all, you can order a full flight (8 meads) which is large enough to share with two people. My favorites were the Lime in the Coconut, Dreams & Honey Buzz. I’m glad we brought our girlfriends here too. We all had such a great time. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks again @deadwoodmeadery for your hospitality! #Repost @catchingflightswithjay The celebrating didn’t end as we flew to the Midwest this past weekend to celebrate our twin nieces’ first birthdays! We were able to stop by Hairy Cow Brewing Company on our way to Oregon, Illinois and aside from their beers, they also had the best brick oven pizzas! They have a variety of different pizzas from a Breakfast Pizza and a Taco Pizza to the basics like a Margherita Pizza and Buffalo Chicken Pizza (which we had and👌🏼) ✨My Flight✨ 🍺: Hazy IPA (6.8% ABV) lightly hoppy, with pineapple and citrusy notes 🍺: Sour Todd - White Peach (5.3% ABV) reminded me of gummy peach rings you can get at the convenience store, not too sour, just how I like my sour beers 🍺: Ogle Oats (6.7% ABV) like any other oatmeal stout. Good, but I prefer additional flavor notes in my stouts 🍺: Kyloe Coconut Porter (6.8% ABV) coconut porters are either a hit or miss for me but this one was very enjoyable and easily my favorite of my flight. It was the perfect mix of coconut and cocoa.
