One of my friends decided to throw a Harry Potter party next month, so naturally I immediately went to the craft store and then made a Honeydukes sign for the snack table. 🤷♀️
“If you leave a door half open, soon you’ll hear the whispers spoken. If you play outside alone, soon you won’t be going home. If your window’s left unlatched, you’ll hear him tapping at the glass. If you’re lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you.” I jumped on the bandwagon and finally got to read this creepy masterpiece! I have a love/hate relationship with thrillers. The majority of them fall seriously flat for me but books like this one keep me coming back to the genre! 🦋💀🦋💀🦋💀
I finished up Wilder Girls and now it’s on to the next one, The Ten Thousand Doors of January, by Alix E. Harrow!

“It’s like that, with all of us here. Sick, strange, and we don’t know why. Things bursting out of us, bits missing and pieces sloughing off, and then we harden and smooth over.” Currently reading: Wilder Girls, by Rory Power. This book is essentially Lord of the Flies and Annihilation smashed together with a female cast of characters. I dig it. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Let’s talk adaptations! What are some of your favorite book to screen adaptations? For years I’d have said Harry Potter, but I watched the Good Omens series when it came out and omg, what an example of perfect casting! I’ve been dying to see Where’d You Go Bernadette, but I still need to make time for the book first.
