Chain of Gold is the first book in the New York Times Bestselling , The Last Hours Trilogy! I had started this book sometime in 2021 and it didn't take me long to finish both the books that have been released uptil now in this series ( The other one being Chain of Iron ). The Last Hours Trilogy takes place in Edwardian London, sometime is the very early 1900s. It revolves around the next generation of the characters of the Infernal devices , the protagonists being Cordelia Carstairs, James and Lucie Herondale , Matthew Fairchild , the Blackthorns and Lightwood siblings. A new disaster has plagued the shadow World in London , when the Shadowhunters are being attacked by demons in broad daylight. Many are injured and more are dying without any proper cure for the demon poison. In such times Cordelia and her family are stuck in London fighting and keeping these demons at bay. She chooses to stay here for two people - Lucie , her would be parabatai and James , the boy she has secretly loved for years. This story deals with Cordelia and James facing a soul breaking realisation about the matters of their heart. They realise that the bond they share is much more powerful that any other demon poison. While reading this book 📚 it felt really very different when compared to what I felt while flipping through " The Mortal Instruments". The prime reasons are :- 1. It felt really nice to finally meet the children of Will , Tessa , Charlotte and all the other characters from TID 2. Cordelia's determination of not wanting to be someone's bride but a Shadowhunter capable of protecting herself ,really did send a very powerful message for all women out here. 3. James, Matthew and Cordelia's shared moments , reading and discussing books. 4. ( Swipe post ➡️ ) Well, I have been a huge fan of the Grishaverse , by Leigh Bardugo , ever since my friend Utsa ( I wish I could tag you here coz I am eternally grateful to you) recommended it to me... sometime in the beginning of 2021. I wasn't entirely sure about this read , but Oh boy! It became the love of my life. Especially the SIX OF CROWS DUOLOGY. It simply is *chef's kiss*!! Now after completion of reading the books , I proceeded on to watch the TV adaptation of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy and it mesmerized me! Trust me when I say it was one of the best TV adaptation you ever come across and I really didn't expect it to be this perfect ( not after Shadowhunters). Now , since the Orion Publishers came up with an absolutely new TV tie in Edition of the Six of Crows book , I simply couldn't help myself from owning a copy of this book. The brilliant cover features the three crows from the Shadow and Bone series streaming on Netflix i.e. Kaz Brekker ( @freddycarter1 ) , Inej Ghafa ( @amitasuman_ ) and Jesper Fahey ( @kittheyounger ) . The ship of Brides📕 Before starting today's book recommendation I would like to provide a huge shoutout to @book.chor for their amazing delivery service. These books arrived in absolutely perfect condition and I could never complain about the cute little bookmarks they have sent! Had a great time shopping with Bookchor.com . To begin with , I became a die hard fan of Jojo Moyes after reading the book #mebeforeyou! So when I came across this books I could not resist myself from grabbing them and flipping through it's pages. "The ship of Brides" is a story set just after the second world war when a had women set sail on ships from all across the world , to go back to their newly wedded husbands , who were soldiers in the war. One such ship sets sail from Australia. And the plot concentrates on four women , on this particular ship. "The One Plus One" , is one of my personal favourite books when it comes to contemporary romance! Set in England this is a story of mutual love between Edward , a successful software developer and Jessica , a single mother battling in their own lives. This book was so adorable , especially because ofJessica's children and their gigantic dog! It will definitely get five stars from my end! Do read them and keep me posted about your experience. The last and the final book in the Infernal Devices Trilogy by @cassieclare1 ( Cassandra Clare ) is "Clockwork Princess ". Like any other concluding book to a Shadowhunter series , this book is heart shattering and will leave a mark on your inner self, incessantly. Tbh , I couldn't keep my tears while flipping through the pages of the prologue , at the end of this book. After the events of the ' Clockwork Prince ' while Tessa and Jem are busy preparing for their fairy tale wedding and Will starts bonding with his younger sister, a new problem starts brewing up in the dark alleyways of London. Stocks of yin fen , the drug keeping Tessa's soon-to-be husband surprisingly start vanishing. Without the drug Jem's health starts failing but he is hell bent on having this wedding , considering it to be his final shot towards happiness. With the death of Benedict Lightwood and his son-in-law, the Lightwood boys become a new addition to the London Institute , after promising to help Charlotte with the whole situation with the Magister. With Jem almost dying of fever , the problem worsens when Mortmain takes Tessa captive. Will , finally revealing his true feelings for the woman he loves sets for Cadair Idris to get Tessa back , as instructed by a dying Jessamine. This book becomes a lot to process , once we come to know about the reality behind Tessa's parentage . When we realise that she is one of her kind. And both Will and Jem , now a Silent Brother will stop at nothing to protect her from the dangers of this world. One last time the Shadowhunters weld their seraph blades against the Infernal Devices. One last time, Tessa has to choose between the matters of her heart and her brain. Inspite of finding safety in the Shadowhunter institute, new things begin to haunt her life , when the people at the institute finds out that Jessamine, a fellow Shadowhunter had been acting as a spy for the Magister and Tessa's brother Nate( the welder of the automatons ) . They realise that the Magister's plot against the Shadowhunters was indeed a result of a personal grudge that had remained buried inside him for a really long time.
