Thrifting Finds
- from Book Off
All cleaned up and ready for display.
Here are the thrifting finds I picked up from Book Off last week, and the new shadow box I got from Daiso to display them.
The shadow box is actually a utensil organizer. Light weight wood, natural grain. Perfect for hanging on the wall.
And it was only 200円 - about $2.50 at our Daiso.
It's much more versatile *and* cheaper than a purpose-made shadow box (something similar sold as a display box at our local hobby/craft store easily goes for $17.99)
Everything pictured here was about $45
And the majority of that was spent on the WCF Kamen Rider 1 and 2 ($12 each)
But it was an easy buy for my two favorite Riders, from one of my favorite toylines.
But the real find here is that little Kinkeshi carpenter Kinnikuman. What an awesome little figure from a line that you rarely see out in the wild.
Pullback Yatter-Wan

Quick Shot
A very quick shot today.
I picked up this pull-back Yatter-Wan (a pun on "One" and "Wan" - the onomatopoeia for a dog barking in Japanese) at a Book-Off last year.
And I still haven't found any information on the toy.
As a matter of fact, one of the top results when you search is my own post asking for information.
Oh well. It's still a beautiful toy. That's the fun of thrift finds - you can find something you've never even heard of before.
One thing this toy highlights for me is how much I love this color combination.
It's what also attracted me to lines like Momo Planet and Acid Sweeties. Bold, clashing primary colors that somehow still work together.
That combination of red, white, and yellow just says retro toys to me.

Went to a local book-off for the first time and saw a few figures I enjoyed! Sadly didn’t get anything but look at how cute these ones are!
