As some know I work at a library. I’ve seen this new book hanging out on the shelf for a while and I have never hate read a book in my life but I simply cannot help myself. Also the libro.fm ALCs came out and this month has some banging choices. I added a lot to my TBR but I'm especially excited to get to Adrian Tchaikovsky's "Preaching to the Choir", Natasha Pulley's "The Salt King", and Doireann Ní Ghríofa's "Said the Dead."
Library holds came in! (Bonus, my cat playing with the stringy bookmark lol)
JULY READS
all in all that was a lovely month in reading. ‘briefly, a delicious life’ was a bit of a disappointment (a perhaps unintended reading emerged that really soured me on the story) and ‘this is how you lose the time war’ sadly didn’t hit nearly as hard with me as i’d have hoped 😭 ‘is a river alive?’, ‘when i sing, mountains dance’, and ‘ensaio sobre a lucidez’ were brilliant. and i really loved ‘on the calculation of volume’. a very short-and-introspective book heavy month!
currently reading: ‘the wandering mind: what medieval monks tell us about distraction’ by jamie kreiner (currently paused) and ‘private rites’ by julia armfield

July Reading Wrap Up
What a month! This was a massively busy one at work, I had several work weekends with a lot of programs that were a lot of fun and a lot of work. Summer reading was a blast and a huge success. While I didn't read as much nonfiction as I did in June, and what I did read was on the shorter side, I'm happy with my reading choices this month. I started reading Warhammer with some coworkers for a mini book club, I got to a couple of rereads, and it only took about 8 months but I finally caught up with One Piece! Finally at Elbaph!
I read 21 volumes of manga and one graphic novel (the Song of the Lioness adaptation) this month, which I'm subtracting to make my actual total of books 17 this month.
