Headcanon: Boltlund look like Borzoi, have fewer back toes to help them be Very Fast, and are quite lazy outside of Work and Battle. Unless they’re running, they basically lay around and grow fur. Very good farm dogs. Very good police dogs. The fur is curly because they are HOT, such a HOT DOG. Lower jaw fangs start sticking out when they’re a year past the evolution, as their bones finish settling. Surprisingly powerful bite. Like all hounds, they will only truly bond with one human at a time. The bond can be transferred to different people— but it cannot be shared. It is illegal to take a Boltlund into most Galarian towns and cities without a leash on them— not because of any perceived danger from the Boltlund, but because if one starts running, they’ll go from zero to forty-five in about three seconds.
The Pokédex entry on Boltlund is based on Turffield Boltlunds, which are about twenty pounds heavier than the actual average, at seventy-five pounds. Most of them weigh less than a big sack of rice or a medium child. The further north you go in Galar, the smaller the Boltlund.
