#dancing star#dancing star precure#dancing star pretty cure#bokupre#cure lock#cure top#I just enjoyed this little pose they do in the opening#these designs are fucking nightmares to draw btw#I removed a layer of lock's outfit because it looks dumb to me#he has his shirt and vest with little tailcoats and then also a bigger tailcoat shaped cloth later over the pleated skirt bit#and it's like almost the same color as the pleated part so it just looks like a mess#I like that he has spats. big fan of spats#I had to fight with gakus shoes and ended up simplifying the shape of the top bit.i enjoy his shoes as a design feature but#they're hard to draw and also if I saw someone wearing shoes like that IRL I would laugh and laugh and laugh#also while looking at different ref images it was the first time I noticed just how much they nerfed his parachute pants in the animated ve#from the kimi to idol ep#they are not even parachutes...#makes sense vis a vis animatability#anyway. you get a bonus speed paint cus I figured out how to turn that feature back on#hoshikawa gaku#natsume hayato#mine#my art#pretty cure#precure#also cracks me up how fast the speedpaint makes coloring#I promise that shit took me multiple hours tonight#like at least 4 I think#we watched a solid 11 episodes of magical girl animes while I was coloring#it's just bc I sketch with hairy lines so that makes way more strokes to capture and takes up most of the speedpaint
