on progesterone birth control pill to try to curb excessive period pain, and it seems to be working so far, but it's also really weird.
Like GPs will say to you that it gives you a lighter, less painful period but as I understand it from reading up on this (a while ago, to be clear) that's not really what's happening; you might get some bleeding and even light cramps but this is not a period and what's really weird is that my body seems to know this!
So I can be intellectually entirely aware that I am bleeding but still totally forget about it when e.g. choosing what pants to put on bc I'm not on my period; that sensation is absent from my body and with it, apparently, the cues that I was using to take appropriate measures about that
One of my favorite bodily sensations is a good old-fashioned nose laugh. Like. You are trying to giggle without being obvious, and instead of coming out your mouth, it comes out your nose, and you realize that your nasal cavities can vibrate.
