Since you said we could ask about specific stories was there anything specific that gave you the inspiration for part time soulmate?
i think i’ve said this before somewhere but it’s definitely influenced by the movie TiMER and the way it explored the idea of the introduction of a soulmate finding technology. the plot itself has almost nothing in common with the movie, so don’t expect anything similar if you go watch it! but the movie explores a lot about whether people choose to get the technology and whether they choose to keep it and why. and the idea of that technology coming out when people are already in relationships, vs a more traditional soulmate au where that’s just how the world works, and how people might respond… i actually wish i had time to do more world building in this story! but i’m trying to keep it a manageable length 😂

8. is there a character you love writing for the most? the least? why?
Catwalker's probably at the top of the list since everything he says is both a truth and a lie at the same time which is delicious to write, but I also always have fun when I can send Marinette down a semi-sensical doom spiral.
I don't really have a least favorite, since if it's a character I utterly despise, I simply won't write them into the story at all. I guess it's probably someone like Gabriel Agreste since he's absolutely the worst dad ever and the plot doesn't work without him, but most cases I can just drop in an occasional scene to remind the reader he's got to be dealt with eventually and ignore him otherwise.

“If you want to pig out on ice cream and watch sappy movies together to help deal with the rejection, my window’s always open,” Nino offered. “Or if we really get desperate, I could probably get Alya to dig up some dirt on the guy Ladybug likes to make him less shiny in her eyes.” “Let’s just stick to the ice cream and movies,” Chat said. “If a boy managed to get Ladybug to fall for him, he’s probably not some secret mass murderer.” “That’s true,” Nino admitted. “Ladybug’s not really the type of girl to fall for the ‘bad boy.’ If anything, she’s probably added him to the team of heroes by now.” “No way!” Chat said. “She’d never put her own loved ones in danger!” Nino quirked an eyebrow. “Giving a person jewelry that gives them super strength and durability counts as endangering them?” “Maybe not physically,” Chat allowed, “but Ladybug is adamant about keeping her hero life and personal life separate. If someone found out that she cared about that boy, she’d think he could get targeted.” Nino rolled his eyes. “It’s not like the boy she likes has to know it’s her giving the miraculous to him. There’s no reason for her to not include the guy.” “Wanna bet?”
