@amarlenes-unsung-knight asked: Could you do a one shot of Voltron ShiroxBlunt/NaiveChubbyReader. Shiro is attempting to flirt or woo Reader. But the Reader has no clue what Shiro is doing. It mostly has to do with fact she doesn't know if Shiro is being sincere about it and walls are built up.
“Good job (Y/N), your right hook is getting better,” Shiro came up to you after the group practice to tell you this. He wanted you to be part of training even though you weren’t a Paladin. He’s reasoning was to make sure you were able to defend yourself if you needed it which was a valid reason and why you agreed to it. “H-How about a one on one session tomorrow? T-To work on your blocks, they’re getting better, but I see room for improvement.”
You raised your brows at Shiro’s flushed state, it wasn’t from practice, you knew that for a fact. Capping your water bottle you shook your head. “You have one on one practice with Hunk.” Checking your watch, you quickly grabbed your stuff before turning to Shiro one last time.
“Thank you for the offer, but let’s just keep with out regular schedule.” With that, you made your way out of the training area to meet up with Lance. He’s your best friend and he’s been there for you and you’ve had each other’s backs especially now that you’re in space. “You know he was flirting with you right?” Lance’s voice snapped you out of your little trance as you both went down the castle’s hallway. Sighing, you nudged him down an empty hallway to have this discussion.
Leaning against the wall, you let out a sigh, your eyes going down to the ground. “What if he doesn’t mean it Lance? Like...him?” You crossed your soft arms across your chest. Lance wrapped his arms around you, bringing you close to him. “Shiro’s different (Y/N)...I know it’s hard because of what he did and you’re more hesitant now and I get that but Shiro looks at you any chance he gets and he smiles when he’s around you.”
Leaning into hold, you only shook your head. “He smiles all the time around the team Lance...besides, he’s probably just playing around.” Clutching the material of Lances shirt you both stayed that way for a while, a silence falling over the both of you.
“He smiles differently around you (Y/N), he lights up, it’s like he’s actually happy...just...just give it some though, I know you’re still hurt by what happened, but I promise you as your best friend that Shiro’s different.” You only nodded at his words, staying in his hold just a bit longer.

You listened to Lance, you honestly always did because you knew he was right. So, for the next few weeks you just watched Shiro making sure you weren’t caught and you had to laugh because Lance’s words rang true, Shiro would light up when you were around, you caught him looking at your more than a handful of times a day and the flirting was obvious now and you wanted to kick yourself for not seeing it sooner.
“You look nice today (Y/N).”
“Your block’s got better, but let me show you how to make it better.”
“(Y/N)’s perfect the way she is, I wish she’d see that.”
“Maybe we can hang out sometime (Y/N)...maybe look at the stars in the observatory room?”
“Earth to (Y/N)!” You snapped out of your thoughts, eyes going over to Lance who was shaking your shoulder. Shrugging off his arm you replied with a curt and short, “What is it Lance?”
“Practice is over and Shiro wants to talk to you too by the way.” With a shit eating grin on his face Lance sent you a wink before waltzing out of the training room, a hard silence falling over the area. Looking over at the other side of the area, sure enough, Shiro was there a slight smile on his face as he looked at you. Heaving a sigh, you gathered your things and made your way over to Shiro.
Crossing your arms across your chest, you gave Shiro a stoic look. “Lance said you wanted to talk to me?”
“What did I do (Y/N)?” The questions caught you off guard that was for sure. You weren’t sure what he was asking. “I’m not sure what you’re talking about Shiro.” The man sighed before grabbing your hands.
“I’ve tried to flirt, send you hints and you’ve done nothing...just tell me what you feel for me...please.” Giving your hands a squeeze, he patiently waited for your answer.
“I just...I’m just afraid you don’t mean it when you say those flirtatious things,” Squeezing his hands back as a nonverbal response, you continued on. “I’ve been hurt before by someone who said the same things...did the same things you’re doing now and my walls are high, they won’t come down easily.” You made your feelings blatantly clear to Shiro who just nodded a look of understanding etched on his face.
“I do (Y/N)...mean those things I mean. I also know you’re guarded and hesitant and I’m ready to wait for you, help you if you need anything.” You finally met his gaze, one that was soft and serene. “I’m ready to go at your pace (Y/N), no matter what speed it is.”
You felt your lips twitch a bit on the sides, a small smile coming to your face. Before you even thought about it, you gently tugged his arms down so he’d lean down and once he did, you planted a quick kiss to his cheek a hue of red rapidly appearing on his cheeks.
“Okay...that sounds good Shiro...thank you.”
“Anything for you (Y/N), how about going to look at the stars in the observatory?” A wide smile made its way to your face again as a fluttering entered your chest. Nodding your head, Shiro grabbed your hand and led the way to the observatory.
