Day 1: Shiloh National Military Park
I am trying something new for the next two weeks. Eery day I am going to write a short thought on something I have seen accompanied by a photo. Practicing my writing and photography at the same time.
Only inches stood between life and suffering between the lines. Accents, southern and northern, indistinguishable within the two syllables of “water.” With life wisping away, country and honor detach themselves to the night. Plain, human soul bubbles up from beneath the veneer. All that can be done is listen and contemplate a few inches.
