On June 9, 2025

When getting off from work, I decided to scrolled through my socials for a bit to see what was new going on in the world, whether it be from films, artwork, merchandise or events approaching this year. As I continued to scroll, I felt as if my heart stopped, never did I suspect to come across a post of a new event happening this year in the city I live in. Announcing them bringing my favorite actor, Xolo Maridueña.

I discovered Xolo Maridueña during the first announcement of DC's new film in the year 2023, Blue Beetle. When I first saw the film in theaters, I was absolutely drawn to the heroic character he portrayed. It was also a film that allows me to step back into my inner child past through the music, Hispanic references ex: El Chapulin Colorado/Sabado Gigante, the memorable moment with family and my love for superheros. In my opinion, I believe Xolo Maridueña had brought the character Jaime Reyes to life from the comics onto the big screen just right.

When I found out, Xolo Maridueña was making an appearance at an event this year. I became a bit hesitant to be given the opportunity to meet him. Last year, I was also given the opportunity to meet him. Even though he was hours away from where I lived, I still became nervous. Now that they announce He is coming in the city I live in this year, it made me wonder, what if this is a chance to finally meet him. I decided to take a leap of faith and purchased my ticket to attend the event. Due to this being my first time meeting him, a lot of thoughts and emotions roam through my head when I purchased my ticket. Yet, with me still wondering what I could say to him when the time comes, I did receive an idea about the possibility of giving him a gift.

The Gift

For the past two months, I have been working with wonderful people to make this gift come to life. I first had to start off with the main piece of the gift. I worked with a company named KTcustomdolls, a company that can be found on Etsy. {I'll also put their link to their shop close to the preview of the Gift.} I had explain my idea of them and they were kind enough to help me make this gift project come to life, Their team were a jewel to work with from the process of making the concept art to the making of the finished product. When the company had updated me on the process of the finished product, I was awed by their creation. He turned out absolutely adorable. What amazed me even more was the detail on his chest symbol and Khaji-da resting on his back. {I understand some of you may be wondering that Khaji-da should be in the center of his back, yet due to the sewing of his back it was recommended to place Khaji-da on the side of his back which I was okay with having them on the back 🪲 }
