The Raven Cycle
I just finished reading The Raven Cycle and tbh wasn't too interested in the plot/setting. Didn't overly care about ley lines or Glendower or Artemis etc.
I did though really enjoy the world of the series:
300 Fox Way felt so real to me like could so visualise how full of people and busy the house always was.
Loved the idea of Blue living there, in a house full of psychics.
Loved the friendship of the group. All the fist bumps and bros and Ronan's constant swearing. And how Blue described it as them all being a little in love with each other.
I loved the ridiculousness of the Gray Man telling everyone he met that he was a hit man
I loved how snarky, angry Ronan dreamed himself a baby bird and a little girl with hoofs.
I really cared about Blue/Gansey and felt bad for them feeling like they had to hide their feelings.
Henry Cheng was great!
And, okay, before reading the series I knew Ronan/Adam became a thing but ah god I loved them so much! It was such a great slow burn of them realising their feelings and ah I loved it. 😍
So yeah, while the overall plot didn't really hold my attention, I did enjoy the series and was a bit sad to leave the world. Really looking forward to the Dreamer trilogy now because more Ronan/Adam! 😁♥️

My headcanons for The Raven Cycle Tv-Series trailers: Teaser trailer: 1. everything is black, a head pops up (surprise it's Ronan) "jesus shit mary fuck" he lifts of his headphones and we hear what he is listening to (suprise it's murder squash, or irish electric shit). Everything goes black again 2. "Hello my name is Blue (off screen Gansey: "JANE") And welcome to my room" (at least five women has gone by the camera) she opens her bedroom door and reveals the beauty 3. Gansey driving his Camaro and he looks rich and amazing, until it breaks down and he smiles 4. Is about Adam but I would be happy just to see him happy so he is very happy Trailer: Voice overed by the ghost meeting with Blue and Gansey, we drive through a small road, filmed way up and it's a Camaro going by and a BMW far away. We drive through woods and by the Henrietta-sign. When the voice over is done it cuts into a school, a classroom and we see the boy from the first teaser trailer and he has a raven in his bag and the boy in the Camaro is like "why" and two people talk latin in the background (if you know latin you could hear them say: "i think it's starting" "but who will wake him up?" And some quotes from the music in the background). I don't know, is it shit? Or am I just hyped?
So I woke up yesterday and Tumblr was all like "yo its international book day" and because I'm an actual need I was like "shit yeah this is a public holiday I can get behind" so of course I read The Raven Boys in one day (on St Mark's Eve too can you fuckin believe. ..). Anyway, it's the first time I've read the series since The Raven King came out (I haven't read trk yet okay I wanted to re-read the series first) and I'm having a lot of Feelings. • if I am ever half as comfortable in my skin as Blue Sergeant is in hers I will die happy • GANSEY oh my lord I have so many feels about Gansey it could fill its own post • I'm dying inside a little bit because there was definitely not enough Ronan in the first book I need more Ronan Lynch: Angry Gay Polyglot in my life. Just like as a general rule. • Also Noah. I need more of this cinnamon roll in my life seriously just let him he happy please • Actual Slytherin Adam Parrish • I have many many mixed feings about Adam actually because on the one hand I understand why he acts the way he does and he's so brave and honest and I love him but at the same time I kind of want to tell at him sometimes SERIOUSLY. • I swear every single raven boy needs like a 45 minute hug. They all make me so sad for different reasons honestly in emotional • the whole girl gang thing Maura, Persephone and Calla have going on is honestly low-key squad goals. I just love how close they are and how unapologetically weird they are I love it.
