A brave dragonfly holding still for macro shots, shining colorfully in the sunlight! This individual was having trouble flying, seemingly from a deformed hind wing, so he likely didn't have much time left. I had actually seen him in the same area the day prior, but I left him alone then because I figured he was on his way out. He lasted to the next day, though, so I got my pictures in then. His eyes are just gorgeous!!
I finally found a super cute bug that let me get some pictures! Looks to be a dragonfly, or maybe a damselfly? I'm uncertain the difference. The location is in the DFW Metroplex in Texas!
The thorax is a pale yellow, and their abdomen has a pretty light blue color! Their eyes are so gorgeous, a nice vivd blue-green color. <3<3

What beautiful eyes! This is a dragonfly. Damselflies are in a different suborder and tend to have a longer skinnier abdomen. Just much less robust overall. Anyhoo this sweet pal looks like a blue dasher.
