I still can't get over the fact that Blue Cop is so small compared to the others -- he is a STAR GUARDIAN. He has an Ultimate and Trinity form. It's like Deus went "I shall grant you a power with endless possibilities... But your height shall remain laughable."
(Rant under cut, maybe out of character and I'm not great at analysis. This is my interpretation and OPINION):
Flame Nova has 4 vehicles as his main transformation and he is MASSIVE. So the other Guardians will probably be big and much more capable like Flame Nova right. Deus had faith in him. And you know who else she had faith in ? Gigantrex.
You just look at them and they mean BUSINESS. From their red and bulky frames, they dominate the field and make sure everyone knows they are in charge. And red is a striking colour with confidence and aggression..... They COMMAND. They LEAD. They look threatening and very scary.
Flame Nova as Blue Cop's superior already makes the weight of his impression heavy with respect. So after his limbs got taken away from him, did another superior step in and took his position or Blue Cop himself ? ... It'd be a long jump. To have Flame Nova, big and badass replaces with the kind and clumsy Blue Cop. From 1 to 100 real quick.
And Blue Cop probably tried to be as strict as him but he cares more about people's well-being. He can't fully be like his superior.
Now look at Blue Cop. While he is also authoritative -- he's more approachable, I think. His blue is very welcoming (His color scheme is beautiful, okay) and he tries his best to be considerate of people.
From kneeling down, showing his hands to present himself as nonthreatening and using well structured words that doesn't seem harsh or too commanding (he states out reasons). He doesn't operate on his own -- he actively asks Jun for orders.
I know it's probably the metal breath effects BUT. Doesn't he give the impression of a follower? It's like he can't function well without orders from someone. Yes, he can lead. Although, he's more of an assistant to me. I don't think he can command an army of his own or lead an entire population.
As if he was taught to HELP people. Actively help them. Not to specifically be the leader or something and operate a busy organization -- this would explain his personality, size, and colour scheme (Optional, whatever). Now. After Flame Nova's imprisonment. HOW. HOW is Blue Cop the greatest Star Guardian ?
Okay. Wild Guardy said that but there could literally be other existing Guardians that's like Flame Nova. He may be a fanboy but not stupid. So how did Blue Cop had this title ? How did he get this position ? How is he a Star Guardian ? (This probably won't get answered later in the show but eh. This seems too deep for a kids show)
And for now, there are two Metal Breaths. Deus entrusted one to Gigantrex and BLUE COP. BLUE COP. THE SMALL GUY. Probably the smallest guardian because I can't imagine a shorter Guardian. Deus trusts this guy so much as if he isn't sometimes clumsy and gets thrown around easily by new Cardbots.
Unless he's the beloved Cardbot of the planet and Deus's favourite little guy (Projecting, projecting........) That would make sense. It's like entrusting your company to your child than other older and more experienced relatives in the same work field. Deus could've given the Metal Breath to any other Cardbot and she chose Blue Cop himself.
Is it because he's so damn adorable. His cute charm and mannerisms makes him so captivating and suddenly trustworthy ? "You're so cute that I will give and entrust you with everything" thing.
Does his doubts, mistakes, failures, trauma and breakdowns amuse her ? Does it entertain her so much that she's willing to pressure him with more responsibility just to see him be a pathetic mess ? Even if it costs the lives of other Cardbots and important stuff going on ?
He wasn't at his full potential on Machina because he literally experienced his first time as Ultimate and Trinity Blue Cop form on EARTH. And he is still learning. Learning. And learning to be the best. Also, in the episode of "Blue Cop's special training"...
How UNTRAINED is he ? He doesn't meet the standards of Flame Nova back in season 1. It's like he's a junior Star Guardian. Actually, he protects Deus. Right. So how does he protect Deus beside FLAME NOVA. Their capabilities are very contrasting and their differences are clear as day.
Conclusion. Something. Because I write here and there with scattered points. What is this. A scrambled egg.
He's smaller compared to other Cardbots with power and authority -- shouldn't he one-up them ?
Same field, different vibes compared to Gigantrex and Flame Nova. They LEAD. He ASSISTS.
Unable to operate perfectly on his own. He needs a list of tasks or any order/suggestion from anyone. He will get anxious if there's no response from his boss.
He's been entrusted with great responsibilities by Deus Machina herself and it doesn't seem like he is the best candidate for that.
He wasn't at his true or best potential on Machina.
