Summary: you walk into the gym locker room and billie sees something alarming; which causes her to worry even though she doesn’t really know you.

i thought i’d covered them up well enough. i really thought i had. i pulled my shirt over my head, the strap of my messenger bag on my right shoulder and started walking out of the locker room door.

“y/n are you okay?”

billie walked behind me then pulled me to the side of the hallway. i thought a moment, shit what if she saw them. dad would have my head on a golden platter.

“yes, why wouldn’t i be?”

she gave me a questioning look. her eyes big and her eyebrows arched. now we’d never talked much, billie and i, in fact i was surprised she even knew my name, so it was even more peculiar to be as to why she would care enough to question my mental state.

“sure you don’t wanna explain those bruises then?”

shit! she knows! i’m so fucked i thought, and my face showed my thoughts. i wanted to run. i wanted to get the hell away from her, from school, from this goddamn city. and she could sense it, my inclination to run the hell away from her i meant.

“shit y/n,”

she took her hands out of her pockets and wrapped her arms around me. i winced a little as she’d touched one of the bruises unintentionally through my shirt.
