When I first discovered video streaming in the 2000s it was new and cool technology but I never thought it'd end up threatening or displacing physical media nor could predict its downsides like region blocking and regular removal of videos that would cause people to go back to physical media.
But I think it makes perfect sense that if you really love certain movies or TV shows it's a good idea to keep local copies because you never know and for a lot of people physical media is the most practical means of legitimately doing that!
Even now I don't have enough Internet bandwidth to stream 4K movies much less to two TVs at once for upstairs and down here so it's better for me to have them offline.
Also even now physical media is the only way to get one's hands on lossless audio for home theater.. if you want that it has to come off the disc!
