I adore the Minecraft fandom. One particular aspect that I love is the fact that being based a sandbox, the fandom features patterns and tropes that are common across various subsections of the fandom.
One example is "hybrid" and nonhuman characters. Hybridity and animal symbolism in characters is not only visually interesting, but also influences and informs the lore of characters based on associations with various mobs in-game or animals not found in vanilla.
Minecraft single-player catches this profound loneliness in me I've felt ever since first grade.
There are animals and mobs yet no one to talk to
There are structures but no one to explore them with
Diamonds but no person to appreciate them with
What else is there to do after beating the ender dragon? You've killed the one thing making your journey worth.
Perhaps thats why Minecraft channels are so popular, the people yearn for some sort of company. Even if alone
i made an enderman oc and thought i would make them interact with Polly and Nil during the enderwatching episode 🥹
heres the link for the better quality version on Cara since tumblr kinda sucks...
Tumblr REALLY ruined the quality ☹️ But i had a lot of fun with this so enjoy the beautiful thing that took a long time to make!
Au made by @brightgoat
Characters polly and nil from @mc-my-world
I'm actually silly for not thinking of designing builds in my sketchbook and then creative before deploying them in survival waaay sooner.
I offer you! Above-Ground Cellar! Large and Small option :)
We'll start with Large cuz it's easier to get a sense for how compact the space is thanks to there being, well, more space!
Using some mods obviously, Food Storage and Expanded Foods/Culinary Artillery most notably. Very cute options in both of these!

aaand here's the smaller one, which is my favorite of the two, as I like cute and compact things for the vibes.
It's extremely compact, only one block of empty space for your seraph to stand, so it was hard to take a screenshot of it that clearly communicated what it's like inside.
Both of these are based off of a primitive refrigeration system from real world history, and my personal life experience. The way space works in vintage story doesn't really lend itself to the real-world proportions of above ground cellars/primitive fridge. IRL they're usually not much bigger than a bathtub, but thanks to the artificial frost line you make by piling soil on them, you can get a lot of stuff in there! (I had an opportunity to help build one) Obviously, an electric refrigerator is superior, but you'd be surprised how effective/interesting these things are in a practical context!
Anyway! I hope you like the build :)
