Beautiful and powerful blockbuster and road opener spell I casted today. Got the idea during our winter storm to collect ice for Imbolc ice candles and figured they would be perfect for this.
My road is open and free; opportunity always shows itself to me.
With the returning spring light, I spring into action.

Road Openers and Block Busters: What's the Difference?
Road Openers and Block Busters: What’s the Difference?
One of the most commonly requested types of rituals is a Road Opener. Their power, when done with focused intent, is like none other! Many folks think ‘block buster’ when they feel blocked – which makes sense – but ALWAYS start with a Road Opener first. Writing Warmups
I mentioned in a previous post that if you’re looking at Word and deciding not to write because “the vibe ain’t right,” that the vibe can be made right.
Pianists do scales, artists do warmups, and so should writers.
Can’t I Just Start Writing?
Probably not, or you would be. But seriously, warmups are a good idea even if you start in the mood to write. They help focus on the task and clear out distractions and they stretch your creative muscles.
Here’s some Warmups for Creative Writing
Freewriting
Freewriting works for everything. Typing without looking at your words is a good idea, if you can manage it. Helps you avoid editing. Go for 10-15 minutes.
Do a Prompt
It doesn’t have to tie into your story, just write a prompt. Use the story’s characters, if you like. Try to write a scene with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Do a scene description
Choose a setting from your story, the room you’re in, or a place you’ve seen. Practice distributing detail appropriately between important and unimportant info.
Explore a concept
Describe something as fully and in as many ways as possible. What are literally all the things you can say about water? Set a word goal - 300-500 words.
Word Bubble
Get a few random words and write them in the centre of a piece of paper, or a word processor that lets you handwrite. Then do word-association around it like you’re mind-mapping. Fill the page.
Listing
Write 10 metaphors, or 10 similes, or 10 insults, or 10 kinds of rain - you get the gist. Make it 20 if you get through 10 without having to think hard.
