Was musing on a reverse "did NOT notice they were married" fic idea (as one does), in a "SQH is trying so hard to wife mbj up but mbj is Not Familiar with human courting customs" way, because the usual way I've seen it done is sqh not noticing demon courting things and I think its a damn shame theres not more of the reverse around.
Then I got side tracked by the idea of moshang trying to, for lack of another way to say it, marry trap each other and neither noticing. They're both so busy marrying the SHIT out of each other so that if the other tries to marry someone else they can pull a "well, actually, hes already married-" card, and feeling very smug and very sneaky about it that they don't notice the other doing the exact same thing, but in their own customs. They're both waiting for some poor fucker to try their hand at sweeping their "secret" husband off their feet so they can do a whole dramatic reveal. I am CONVINCED this game of married chicken will continue until they both, somehow, simultaneously get arranged into a marriage to some random person where they try to crash the other's wedding to do the whole reveal only to be confused cuz the groom was already missing. OR EVEN FUNNIER STILL, TO EACH OTHER. And then they have to find a way to explain that, ah. Thats.... that's not necessary,,,,, they may. Already be married????
Look, I know I don't talk much about it, but I am in love with the canon x canon ship Chimondo. It's just such a wholesome supportive pairing, and extremely tragic when you look at their relationship in the game.
I'm only bringing this up because I just went onto Danganronpa TikTok hoping to find some content for it, and ended up stumbling onto a whole lot of toxicity. Even one person saying it's ableist to ship it??? Because in the game Mondo killed Chihiro in a PTSD attack, and apparently shipping them de-legitimizes his PTSD??? Like??? I don't get this at all???

I’ll be calling it Second Chance, since that’s literally what it is--for OCs. Ones who have been abandoned, or outright forgotten, or if I’ve moved on from their fandom and don’t want to let go of them. This universe is where they’ll get their second chance at life, with changes made where they need to be made.
4th Wall breaking is possible, but only from OCs who are original to the universe. They know exactly what it is, who created them, where the others come from. The ones getting a second chance at life? They “reset.” They don’t remember their original fandom, or universe, or whatever is is they came from; they don’t realize they’re characters. They don’t remember their old names if those changed, but the Originals? They know. They know exactly where everyone getting a second chance is from; even to the point of having an idea of what they used to be like/who they used to be if they were some of my more well-loved OCs.
They’re pirates, but now I’m realizing for a completely different reason than what I originally created the universe for. Their jobs can be questionable, yes; yes, they plunder if they’re desperate. But they’re called pirates because they’re stealing my unused OCs away from their old lives and giving them a chance to thrive again!
Slackjaw the DinoBot from Transformers? She’s know a mecha named Snakebite, and she was built to help with the heavy labor on the ship, but she still acts like Slackjaw, and maintained a lot of her physical traits.
Redzone my Clone Trooper from Star Wars? He’s now Devos, an alien and best friend to the ship’s scientist, but his personality still mirrors that of Redzone even though he no longer looks anything like his Clone counterpart.
Dot, my first sona/mascot from years ago who never sold when I tried to find her a better home, is to become the crew’s charter and get another design overhaul; she’ll be the one creating their routes through space.
Marra and Ashanko? They’re Originals; created for the universe. Marra, the captain, and Ashanko, her first mate. They see newcomers all the time, and smile to each other when they do; it means the Creator has found another he wanted to give a second chance.

Usually, you'll find moshang fics where Sqh is completely oblivious to Mbj's intentions and its (partly) because he's been trying to court sqh the demonic way, right?
I'm switching things up a little.
• Both are still pining hopelessly, of course. But! Sqh goes "fuck it, we ball. If I die I die" about his feelings and starts trying to date the FUCK out of Mbj.
• I'm talking taking him out to eat, going on outings, giving him flowers, gifts, doing things to make mbj's life easier, giving little good morning notes, maybe some holidays n stuff... lowkey realizing they've been doing couple things for a WHILE so hes having to get a bit creative here to show off okay?
• Lmao he could even try the whole "meeting the family" further down the line and just. Grimacing at literally ALL sides of that fiasco.
• Sqh starts this whole thing off with the thought: "what's the worse he can do? Kill me? I'll probably be well on my way to perishing if he rejects me anyways, he'll be doing a mercy kill at that point."
• Meanwhile, Mbj Has Not Realized wtf has been going on. Like, he keeps accepting everything (because ofc thats his due as king, if nothing else) so Sqh figures he's humoring him and letting him try to woo him properly. Sqh is ecstatic. Mbj thinks sqh has taken on his aid role with far more enthusiasm than usual.
• The main problem, I fear, is that Sqh has been spoiling Mbj lmao
• Like, my guy has gone above and beyond for Mbj, so when he steps up his game to court him, Mbj naturally thinks he just freaking promoted himself or something lmao.
• This goes on for years. Dear lord.
• Anyways, Sqh thinks they've been in a committed romantic relationship for years and is in the process of preparing a proposal, and Mbj is there, trying very hard to think of a way to woo his advisor and start courting him. (All attempts so far have been met with an exasperated [read:fond] sigh, that while don't outright reject him, show no other reaction [sqh thinks these are bouts of romantic moods, and it just spurrs him to get things ready for a proposal sooner. Clearly, his king wants him to put a ring on him].
