Was musing on a reverse "did NOT notice they were married" fic idea (as one does), in a "SQH is trying so hard to wife mbj up but mbj is Not Familiar with human courting customs" way, because the usual way I've seen it done is sqh not noticing demon courting things and I think its a damn shame theres not more of the reverse around.
Then I got side tracked by the idea of moshang trying to, for lack of another way to say it, marry trap each other and neither noticing. They're both so busy marrying the SHIT out of each other so that if the other tries to marry someone else they can pull a "well, actually, hes already married-" card, and feeling very smug and very sneaky about it that they don't notice the other doing the exact same thing, but in their own customs. They're both waiting for some poor fucker to try their hand at sweeping their "secret" husband off their feet so they can do a whole dramatic reveal. I am CONVINCED this game of married chicken will continue until they both, somehow, simultaneously get arranged into a marriage to some random person where they try to crash the other's wedding to do the whole reveal only to be confused cuz the groom was already missing. OR EVEN FUNNIER STILL, TO EACH OTHER. And then they have to find a way to explain that, ah. Thats.... that's not necessary,,,,, they may. Already be married????
