At 25, Toph found herself consoling Sokka as he went through yet another break-up. He just showed up at her door step one night, talking about going out for a drink. She obliged, knowing he was probably hurting and wanted to drown his sorrows in girly fruit drinks. She always enjoyed the harder stuff herself.
They were a motley pair at the bar, him nursing something with an umbrella in it, lean muscular form bent over the table muttering into his arm while her petite hand patted his own, the other wrapped around a great big mug of beer. She listened like she always did.
When it was time to take him home, her practically dragging his sorry behind he was so drunk, she heard him say something that made her heart stop.
"Yerrr rully perr-prrty, y’kno that?"
She flushed but only began to walk with more gusto, trying to tamp down the rising feeling in her chest. She dared not hope he meant any of it.
"You’re drunk, Sokka. Stop talking before you say something you’re gonna regret."
"Buh you arrr -hic-rrrrr!”
Just when she thought she had gotten over him, he had to go and say something like that!
He ignored her, turning weepy and muttering nonsense about how he’d never seen it before.
"Yerr mah bess frend, Toph. I…I lo-"
"Seriously, Meathead! Shut your trap! You don’t know what you’re saying."
She practically kicked down his door in her hurry to get out of his presence. He was on a heap on his couch, asleep and snoring to wake the dead when she ran out of his apartment, slamming the door behind her.
Serves him right if he wakes up.
She dared not listen to any of his drunk ramblings, dared not keep them in the deepest parts of her heart that clung to his encouragement.
It would only hurt her again when he woke up hung over tomorrow and forgot what happened tonight.

AU idea that came to me in bed last night
Toph's parents decide to take her home and try to make her become the 'young woman' they want her to be. Ran hears this, takes Claire wither to bust Toph out and bring her back to Bunkyo/as far away from her parents as possible. Hilarity and fluff ensue as Ran and Claire try to act like parents. I'm sorry I'll go back to sleep whoops.

⊙﹏☉ = What flusters the character?: Basically, anything that takes her off gaurd and that she can't counter. Cases in point, Toph and Claire's trolling, Shinichi being a pain in the neck, Kaitou KID's existence in general, Sanji upping his flirting game, her father being an embarrassing drunk...
(*^◇^)_旦 = What the character likes to eat and drink: For some reason i get the impression that Ran would like fast food and restaurant food in general, purely because she doesn't have too cook it, clean up afterwards, ect. All she does is order and it arrives. :3

Kazu. And basically people in general? He is a bit paranoid, and while his instincts are usually correct if he gets really worried, he does care a lot for his close friends and just worries about them. Especially since he knows how wrong things can go. He is pretty much a busybody so XD
