Blerdcon Looks like it was a great time. DIdn't make it there, but here's a shot from last year that I got of the wonderful @mistress_anju back at Blerdcon 2025
at #blerdcon the comedian dulce sloan brought her podcast chasing kdramas to the con…give me a second while i scream! she had two panels one for just a general discussion of kdramas in the blerd community space and how we all engage wit it and then a live recording of her podcast
and yes i was in the front row
it’s so exciting when the fandom you literally grew up with is now being brought to the con space that typically hyper focuses on gaming and anine and not just in general but specific to Black audiences 🥲
this was the best panel ever, there were so many Black girlies , gents and folks in the audience just vibing over the shared love of kdramas. dulce noted that kdramas were extremely popular amongst Black women & femmes for so many reasons (the emotions you see from men in the show to women being LOVED DOWN to the parallels of drama similar to tyler perry (lmao this is was clearly a joke, but is there pipeline for Black folks of tyler perry to kdramas 🤔🙃) and even the overwhelming feeling of netflix pumping dramas out like there is no tomorrow (i be stressed bc there are so many 😭😭😭))
all that to say i felt seen…😪 alright what should i watch next

This weekend I participated in #blerdcon for the first time. It was AMAZING! Cool community,good food, enlightening panels, awesome cosplays, and lots of vendors to shop from. I’m back home but I definitely plan to go next year! I also of course played #pokemongo and #ingress

Back from BlerdCon (5 hours prior to this post because I went over my reblog/posting limit) ‘Had a lot of fun, and by fun, I mean I bought a lot of shit and didn’t really talk to anybody other than the vendors when I was buying their shit and complimenting people on their costumes and occasionally responding to compliments about my outfit (a blue and black Chao hoodie I ordered from HotTopic.)
