made a community for black anime fans!
for the black anime lovers 🤎
(I still don't love the name but idk)
Ya’ll remember that one show that Keke Palmer that almost everyone hated because it was glorifying cultural appropriation?
Ok so how about we take the name, and scratch everything else
Make it about a Blasian girl (cause Blasians get no representation) who grew up in the countryside of Japan and was always shunned for the color of her skin.
She moves all the way across the world to go to an HBCU in the states to learn about the other side of her culture. BIG CULTURE SHOCK, no one looks at her weird, she fits in for once.
She becomes friends with a classically extrovert black gyaru (Some familiarity + Black alt representation) from the white suburbs (both feel a little out of place at first)
She learned more about her culture, gets ingrained in the community, and slowly learns to destroy her own biases against black people due to where she came from
Basically a classic coming of age story but with proper black NON STEREOTYPICAL representation.
(Bonus, her MOM is the black parent)
I have ideas guys,
I’ll expand later. Maybe

Realizing how many people activated a coon chip only for it to end with an online leak and crap writing
This is going to be weird for me of all people to say this, because I always took issues with gatekeeping, but the recent events in certain online spaces have kind of made me realize that if you are a Blerd, then you as well as I and many others, might have to start gatekeeping The Big 5.
I'm not talking rappers.
If you are a Blerd, we're going to have to start gatekeeping The Big 5.
Many others who aren't Blerds but have overlapping interests are looking for new avenues. They want something different, better, and enjoy things that isn't coming from a small little group of mid-tier to high ranking online celebrities patting eachother on the back & shutting the door closed behind them. They have every right to be mad, but it's not our job to open the doors for anyone and everyone only to relive the same microaggressions and bullcrap over, and over, and over again. To have the same discourse, come up with new solutions, only for nothing to change.
There are some who are genuinely good people! People who are chill & can treat us like human beings, but there are many whom we have seen in recent months who genuinely believes that simply consuming us is activism while acting like the expectation of treating us like human beings with baggage, cultural trauma, and boundaries that we don't want crossed as high treason.
If you are a Blerd, then you probably, and I strongly advise you to as a mere suggestion, have to gatekeep The Big 5.
Our art in this cultural niche is still in it's infancy. There will be disappointments and problems. But if you have enjoyed anyone of the glimpses we have seen of The Big 5 before they've become fully formed, I need you to lock in. Donate if you can, share it with fellow Blerds if you can. Host watch parties with those you trust and like!
I can tell those who aren't Blerds don't even know that these exist. And if they didn't already know, 9 times out of 10, it's a sign that it might have to stay that way.
If you know you know. And I'm serious too, if these people want to act like they can't breathe without consuming us or our culture, then they should've made 'the majority space' a safer place for us to co-exist.
