The Yugioh MC cast is so funny when you think about it because it's just:
- A highschooler who likes playing games and the millennia-old spirit of an Egyptian Pharaoh who also Really Likes Playing Games
- A traumatized (but he doesn't know it) highschooler turned eldritch monster and his non-binary demon partner/soulmate
- A guy who likes motorcycles
- A middle schooler and the amnesiac alien trapped in the necklace he got from his dead father
- A 14-year-old aspiring entertainer who makes the fact that he has Super DID the entire world's (worlds?) problem
- A traumatized (but he knows it) highschooler fueled by spite, revenge and a bit of homosexuality
- An 8-year-old kid
- A 10,000 year-old alien who is convinced the one thing that will end the intergalactic war that has been led for millennias is a card game format created by aforementioned-8-year-old-kid
Honorary mention to manga/season 0 Yugi and Yami who were really just Guy With The Worst Life Ever and the deranged ancient egyptian pharaoh's spirit who took one look at him and went yeah i'm gonna kill people for him (this is also DID in a way)

It might not be obvious since I've barely mentioned her before, but Ray is my most favorite character in Arc V. She barely appears, but in the very little screentime she has she just keeps on being an absolute badass. She low diffed Zarc 2 times, the first one while he was at the absolute peak of his power, and gave them both Super DID to save the world. My goat
Anyways lol. I just think Judai and Ray would be immediate besties. They're both selfless, heroic, and have transcended the human plane of existence at least once + Ray can also hear (and probably see) duel spirits and cares a lot for them, and she seemed like someone who had a pure love for dueling, so they would definitively get along on this part. I also think it would be really funny for Ray to know two Supreme Kings on whom she has very different opinions lol
Assigning motorcycles to GX characters with little to no explanation:
(Althought I had a lot of modern bikes in mind for them, I tried to keep the production time roughly between the 2000s to late 2010s. For the sake of realism or something... shrugs)
Starting off with the two canon bikers (no I'm never getting over this information):
Judai -> 06 Honda CBR1000RR / 01 VFR800
He seems like he'd prefer sportbikes but would be constantly nagged by Yubel and his friends to get something more fitting for his nomadic lifestyle (because there's no way a sportbike is comfortable enough for all the traveling he does).
So he ends up getting a sport-tourer too. He won't give up on the CBR though
Saiou -> 08 Yamaha R6
This is assuming the bike he uses in episode 170 isn't actually his
Look at his suit. Look at the Yusei-esque acrobatics he pulled to save Judai. You can't tell me he's not a racer
And now the non-canon riders:
Edo -> 09 Triumph Daytona 675
This guy fucking skydives to school. And you're telling he's not canonically a professional racer? Nuh-huh
He feels like a Triumph guy to me. Definitively a collector too
Asuka -> 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S / Suzuki GSX-R750 Y
The Vulcan S is for cruising, the GSXR is for track day. Also road racer Asuka is canon in my heart
Sho -> 2010 Suzuki Intruder M800
I feel like he enjoys working on bikes way more than riding them
At first I was hesitant about giving him such a heavy bike considering his frame... But if he wants to install a sidecar for his brother (as JeeJee suggested, thank you by the way for the hilarious mental image) he needs to be able to handle the weight lol
Manjoume -> 2001 Hayabusa
The choice feels almost too obvious. Haven't decided yet if he'd have it stretched or not...
Also a collector obviously, but I feel like he has a preference for classic cars
O'Brien -> 2014 BMW R NineT
I think he'd ride dual-sport bikes or tourers for work, but on a personal level he has a fondness for retro/cafe racer-ish looks
Dirt bike truther. He does give me the impression of being a cruiser guy too, but I admit I gave him one mostly so he and Sho could continue their silly rivalry
In another life where I take Harley Davidsons seriously I might've given him one
Honorary mentions to a few characters I want to assign a motorcycle to but don't think they would/could/need to ride one:
Ryo -> Ducati 1299 Panigale S
Wouldn't be able to ride because of his heart condition, but used to be the most hardcore biker ever. Definitively used to race too. Many such cases
Jim -> 07 Kawasaki KLR650
He's more of a 4x4 Jeep guy to me. It would probably be very uncomfortable to ride with Karen backpacking anyways lmao
Johan -> Aprilia Shiver 750
Performance-wise, this bike is actually a very interesting choice. But clearly the most important argument for this pick is: Aprilias are sexy.
I actually do think he'd know how to ride, maybe he even owned a bike once. But I just feel like he'd prefer cars
Yubel -> (2026) BMW S1000RR
Had to break my self-imposed rule "no modern bikes" rule for this one. But I've always thought it looks just like a dragon, especially from the front with the headlights on. It's also fast as fuck (understatement of the year), and just as intense as Yubel themselves
If you've made it that far, congrats! In case this wasn't already obvious, I have a slight preference for sportbikes.... lmao.
And if anyone's curious: as far as I'm aware, they never confirmed whether Saiou's bike was based on a real model or not. But I personally think it looks a lot like the Suzuki SV650S (left) and/or the Bandit 600 S (right), only with extra fairing, and apparently a dual exhaust too? Which I had only noticed 2 days ago while rewatching episode 170 to make the GIF at the beginning lol. Let me know if you have another guess!

I've been thinking of something. When Yusuke talks about the darkness in Johan's heart, he describes it as "the moon devouring the sun", basically an eclipse. But who's the moon and who's the sun in this situation?
I've always interpreted it as Judai being the moon and Johan as the sun, both because that's kinda the "roles" they play in this part of s4 but also because of the moon or moon-adjacent thingie shadowing Johan's "heart". Or something lmao. But it could very well be the opposite too.
I'm trying to assign motorcycles to some GX characters, but honestly I'm not really sure who in the cast would ride one aside from the two canon bikers (Saiou and Judai). Edo would definitively know how to ride one, maybe Manjoume and Asuka too? Anyways, does anyone have a character in mind?
Forever angry at Konami for not expanding more on Judai's powers (and also on psychic duelists in general) because my powerscaling-lover self can't properly scale him since Konami constantly contradicts themselves.
"This guy bears the soul of the strongest monster spirit that has ever existed" and there are like 3 "strongest monster spirits" per new spin off. "Bearer of the Gentle Darkness" okay. I thought I knew what that meant but nowadays I don't think so. Then they vaguely go back (do they??) on their words and pull something like "actually..... mayyybe he can only make Neos real and really nothing else? I don't knowww"
"You are something beyond human comprehension now" <- is still affected by powers that can only affect humans, but only sometimes, because on other occasions they remember he's not supposed to and he gains immunity. Bro.
