I really don’t get why white people get offended by movies and shows that display black culture and traditions and are also very blunt and honest about the struggle black people face every day. Everything they say and show is true, realistic and relevant, it’s not some big cospiracy and they are NOT “insulting” you, they are literally pointing out the facts. I’m white, yet I don’t get offended. Why would I? I know it’s true. I don’t even have to be american to know, cause I’m not. Racism is real and alive, as it always was. As I write, I’m painfully aware that black people are getting shot, beaten, scarred for life. I don’t feel “left out” from these shows and movies. Why would I? There are lots of white shows and white movies and white protagonists, lots of books with little to no diversity. Left out from WHAT? Black folks are finally able to enjoy a much needed creative space where they can express themselves and expose society’s flaws and hypocrisy and abuse. It’s about time. If you get offended by something black media said about white people, chances are it applies to you. So check your privilege and stop whining. ‘K?
