While it is extremely important young black youth to see positive black characters on in entertainment; it is just as important for non-black youth, particularly white youth, to see proper black role models as well. Children learn from what the see, and hear on a regular bases, and if white children our constantly shown negative, and misinformed stereotypes about black peoples, they will act upon this (whether consciously or subconsciously). Even the meaning white person, who does their best to be a white “ally”, and check their privilege will have prejudices towards black folk, because of the constant barrage of negativity they have been soaked in. For black representation, and for us to really make a dent, we not only have to show black children the importance of themselves, but white children must see this as well; otherwise, it will be a lopsided fight, that is destined to fail, and complete the circle of repeating the same message. White youth brains must also be soaked in the positive images of complex-black-leading characters on film as well. Because brain is were the battle is really at. #racism #blackrepresentationmatters

I was so happy to be a part of this exhibition as a #model !It was the first time in my life doing anything like that. It was fun😀, exciting😄, EMBARRASSING😣😖😖, but so would definitely do it again, given the chance. I was inspired by so many of the #photos ! I want to #create ! But seriously, I was the only #black model in this exhibition, and I think breaking that barrier in itself (IN #JAPAN 🇯🇵)is a feat!
