I'm rewatching ofmd (again) and I keep thinking about Lucius' and Izzy's interactions.
I feel like Izzy is jealous of Lucius for being so open with who he is and whom he loves, and he is irritated because Lucius is one of the few people not intimidated by him (neither is Stede, but he is a captain and that is a whole different story) and he doesn't know what to do with that, because Izzy himself is so repressed he probably doesn't even recognise those feelings.
Lucius seems to be the only person to see Izzy for who he is, he sees right through him into his little, repressed, jealous, bitter soul. Even when Izzy tries to assert some dominance over him, he calls him out on his bullshit ("you're not my dad captain"). He also seems to want to challenge Izzy to address that hidden part of himself ("you ever been sketched?").
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Lucius and Black Pete together, but I'm really curious what this relationship could develop into in season 2.
Seeing as blacklucius seem to be pretty open minded ("we don't own each other"), perhaps there is potential for a poly relationship?
