Last month (October) was Black Cat Awareness Month. It is especially difficult for black cats and kittens because their fur color is often associated with bad luck. These superstitions are still present today. Many people use this as a reason to abuse, abandon, or use black cats as props, especially during Halloween. They are two-thirds less likely to be adopted than white cats and are fifty percent less likely to be adopted than tabby cats. I want you to consider the fact that the opposite may hold true, too.
